Hear, then, the parable of the farmer. When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. Matthew 13:18 WEB.Once praying about something, I felt like I heard a small whisper back from the Lord encouraging...

No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved. Luke 5:37-38 WEB (Paralleled in: Matthew 9:17, Mark 2:22).The most radical change rec...

The Runaway

  • Moses answered, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, 'Yahweh has not appeared to you.' Yahweh said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod." He said, "Throw it on the ground." He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it. Exodus 4:1-3 WEB.

Moses had a shepherd's staff that he carried around with him. It was nothing special initially, but after meeting with God, the staff transformed into an object of power. While it grew in power, it also became something scary. So Moses ran away from it.

After Moses fled the scene, the Lord calmed him down, called him back, and taught him how to handle it properly. Moses then took the staff and set out to free his people from slavery. This time he knew how to handle it, and he was no longer scared of it.

Sometimes the Lord will take something that you already have and turn it into something powerful. Yet, at the same time, it can get scary. The risks, the responsibilities, and the pressure can make you want to run away from them. But only staying with it will cause the victory will come. The Lord rarely takes you around an obstacle. Instead, He will take you straight through the middle of it.

If there is something in your life today that you want to run away from, be sure to pray about it first. God was able to teach Moses what to do, and He will work with you as well. If He does not answer, it must not be important, but sincerely give Him a chance. Don't run away from what could be your calling without first asking His advice about it. Don't let fear rob you of what could be your destiny.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I look to You today and ask for clear guidance in my life. I want Your will to be done and to have a closer relationship with You. Please calm my fears as You did with Moses and teach me what I need to know. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.' Marilyn Salter I have found such peace in my life. I just let it all go to God and He puts me where I belong. I still have fears and worry sometimes, but I pray about it and the peace washes over me again. Hallelujah for His love and grace.

Thank you for a new perspective on this chapter Pastor Dion.

I pray that my heavenly father will speak clearly to me, calm my fears about the continuing deterioration of my body, and guide my actions accordingly. I love you Lord, you are my constant companion.
