The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. Proverbs 24:16 WEB.Once again, I was the one who promised he would never do it again, then went and did it again. I had slowly drifted away one more time. I have found that it's easy to make promises...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

The Bumpy Road

  • Ruth said, "Don't urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May Yahweh do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me." Ruth 1:16'17 WEB.

Ruth and her mother-in-law Naomi walked along the bumpy road quietly, thinking about all that had happened to them. Elimelech, Naomi's husband, had died. Then Ruth's husband and his brother also died. Now, it was just Ruth and Naomi who were left, and they were penniless widows.

Naomi urged Ruth to turn back and go home to stay with her family, but Ruth clung to her. Ruth told Naomi, "Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay." Though she knew there would be trying times ahead for them, the path to Ruth's destiny was down that bumpy road. God richly blessed Ruth after this and gave her another husband named Boaz. She became the grandmother of King David and is listed in the lineage of Jesus Christ.

Salmon became the father of Boaz by Rahab. Boaz became the father of Obed by Ruth. Obed became the father of Jesse. Jesse became the father of King David... Matthew 1:5-6 WEB.

Sometimes our destiny lies down a difficult path. While on the way there, we are given a choice to turn back. So many turned back from following Jesus. Elisha was given a chance to remain behind several times before he received his double portion anointing. But if you stay the course, the reward will be worth it. God will fulfill His promises to you just as He did with Ruth, though the road can be bumpy along the way.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me see the path You have for me clearly. Please give me the grace to face this day and victory over those who would harm me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: For those following the Creation Photography weekly challenges, group leader, Dianna Wyles: Psalm 19:1-2 "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge." ~ Our next fun-filled theme is 'Looking to the Heavens' and is open for creative interpretation so literally sky's the limit. Have fun and post whatever inspires you. I have just a few sky shots and some looking up through the trees for you today' of course a few have birds too! Looking forward to seeing what you see when you look to the Heavens! Enjoy your week, everyone, God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers
