Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James...

However you are just in all that is come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly; neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies with which you did testify against them. Draw Me Close To You

  • Therefore Jesus answered them, "Don't murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up in the last day. John 6:43-44 WEB.

Sometimes, I could see from the look on their face that their greatest wish on Earth was for me to stop talking about Jesus. At other times, I have seen people come to me of their own accord and shakily say, "I want what you have." I have witnessed to people and tried my best to convince them that Jesus is real, and I just got a dismal gaze of pure boredom. In contrast, others could not wait for me to pray with them.

Why the inconsistency? It's because the Lord is drawing them at that time, but maybe not others. However, He may draw them later. I believe we can help by praying for Him to draw them. The Lord has to open their hearts and minds for them to understand the truth, or it will remain hidden from them. Here are two examples:

"He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven." 1 (Matthew 16:15'17 WEB).

Peter recognized that Jesus was the Son of God, then Jesus told him this was revealed to him by the Father. Most people could not see what Peter saw because it was hidden from them but revealed to him.

"A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul." (Acts 16:14 WEB).

Lydia understood what Paul was preaching because the Lord opened her heart to understand it. Many others around them heard the exact words but did not get the message.

If you have people you want to come to the Lord, then pray for Him to draw them, for their hearts to be opened. You will not have to give long-winded speeches or persuade them to believe when the right time comes.

When the Father draws them, they will soon be witnessing to you about the goodness of God and inviting you to go to church with them. We can also pray for the Lord to draw our hearts to Him as well, for no one comes to Jesus except when the Father draws them.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You draw my family and me to You. Please open our hearts and minds to understand the gospel and help us see beyond the natural. Renew us with Your Holy Spirit. May we all come to know You and be saved and delivered. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.' I have always believed in God. I don't know why or how, but even when my dad was beating me or choking me, I knew God was there.  It amazes me that I waited until I was 20 to be baptized in a Catholic church, the 60 in my nondenominational church. The last time was so wonderful. Then a few years ago he came to visit me at my dinner table in a dream. No words were spoken so I don't know why. I just wanted you to know I am His biggest fan and yet I am around some non believers. I am 70 now and I wouldn't want to be any other way.

Honestly, Pastor Dion, I struggle with the seemingly arbitrary selection of those who are drawn to God's truth. I see God working in so many lives who continue to resist giving up their will and ways to belong to Jesus. This is a matter of daily faith and trust in my personal life. God is God. His plan of salvation is for everyone. Free will requires personal action. Lord, open our hearts and minds to understand the gospel. Thank you. Amen

My Boyfriend and I been together for 11 years now. When I first met him He always had good things to say about Christ. Several years ago he was diagnosed with cancer and he had to get Chemotherapy. He made it through it and his Cancer was in remission. i was Thankful because my Dad was also Ill at the same time, but Dad did not have cancer but he could not walk. My Dad allowed my Boyfriend to move in with us. So My Boyfriend helped me with my Dad. After my Dad paseed away a  few years went by and My Boyfriend said that he researched some things about Christ and he no longer Believed the story of Christ. So Me and my Boyfriend had several debates about Christ. He said He believed in God but he thinks the story of Christ is fake. I said a Prayer to the Lord about his belief system and I ask the Lord to help him see that He is real. I did not get angry with My Boyfriend I just told him that you are entitled to believe what wish but I hope that you believe in Jesus again. He told me that he wanted to get Married oneday but he never bought me a ring. Honestly I want my Husband to Love the Lord as much as I do. Thank You Pastor Dion for telling Us How to pray for the Lord to draw us near to him Because I was concerned about My Boyfriend acting So Macho and not wanting to pray to God or Believe in Christ.
