You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 WEB.Remember the game "Hide and Seek"? Many of us played it when we were children. One person covers their eyes and counts down while the others go and hide as best they can. When the countdown is complete, the seeker then searches for the hiders.
When I became a dad, I would reverse this game and play it with the children. I would hide, and the kids would search until they found me. They were limited by their experience, and if I hid too well, I would have to give them hints or make some noise to help them find me. You didn't want to make it so difficult for them that they gave up, but it needed to be challenging according to their ability.
Our heavenly Father hides from us, and it is our part to seek Him out. He drops little hints here and there to let us know He is still there. And we usually find Him right when we are about to give up the search. Don't give up! Seek Him out. He will often be found in the places you least expect. Jesus even hid His teachings in parables.
He said to them, "To you is given the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables" (Mark 4:11 WEB).
Insincere people could listen to the teachings of Jesus all day and not comprehend what He said, but His disciples understood. It was an encoded message. We can read a passage from the Bible ten times and feel that it makes no sense, but then a quickening from the Holy Spirit comes, and we suddenly understand it.
For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever doesn't have, from him will be taken away even that which he has. (Matthew 13:12 WEB).
If we don't use a muscle, it will deteriorate, and one day we will lose its use. In the same way, those who hear the truth and act upon it are given more. While those who reject the truth, or do not let it change them, will ultimately lose the bit they have. The Lord conceals it, we seek it for it, and He reveals it. Jesus told us:
"I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." (Luke 11:9-10 WEB).
Keep on seeking, for you are closer than you were before. Keep on asking, for you are about to receive what the Lord has in store. Keep on knocking, for He's on the way to the door.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me hope, and I pray that You build my faith. Please help me see the big picture and where I fit into this puzzle. Walk with me and talk with me today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!Note: For those following the Creation Photography weekly challenges, here is this week's theme from group leader, Dianna Wyles: Matthew 5:14 'You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." ~ 'Let Your Love Light Shine' will be our next fun-loving theme and as always is wide open for creative interpretation. How do you let your love light shine? We also encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos today reflect some of the things that allow my love light to shine bright: family, nature, and quiet moments with God help fill my heart with so much love it has to spill out and shine bright for others to see. How do I let it shine? Stay blessed and have a wonderful week, y'all! Here is the link:
