The Little Seed

  • Hear, then, the parable of the farmer. When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. Matthew 13:18 WEB.

Once praying about something, I felt like I heard a small whisper back from the Lord encouraging me to go ahead with what I was praying about. Then immediately afterward came doubt, unbelief, and a feeling like, "That's not God. It's your imagination." So I prayed about it again, and this scripture came to me, "The evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart."

Answered prayers start as a little seed, but they will grow into something beautiful as you continue to believe. When the Lord speaks something to your heart, the enemy immediately tries to bring doubt, unbelief, and confusion into the situation. It is an attempt to stop the positive effects that God intended. The enemy wants to kill your dream before it can take root, before it gets started, to prevent you from stepping out into what God has for you.

God works in our lives with His word: "He sends his word, heals them, and delivers them from their graves" (Psalms 107:20). This includes the "Logos" (the written word) and the "Rhema" (the spoken word). When Jesus said: It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God' (Matthew 4:4), He used the Rhema word.

God is not dead, and He will still speak to us today if we listen. Jesus said many times: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says" (Matthew 11:15, Mark 4:9, Mark 4:23, Luke 8:8, Luke 14:35, Revelation 2:7, 2:11, 2:17, 2:29, 3:6, 3:13, 3:22). Many are spiritually deaf today, but you don't have to be like them.

When you pray and get a positive response, believe, hang onto it, and step into what God has for you. If you fall, He can catch you. If you have feelings of doubt and fear afterward, you can bet that the enemy is trying to thwart God's plan by holding you back. Don't let the enemy scare you away from what God has in store.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to believe. Help me overcome my unbelief. I want more of You in my life. I want to serve You with my whole heart and to know You intimately. Please come and be a part of my life today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.' Amen,  thanks for todays devotional pastor Dion,  I struggled for ages wondering is this God talking to me or am I just making this up in my head,   I pray for a more intimate relationship with Jesus but the answer to that for me is getting my lifestyle right, and I mess up pretty much everyday,  and include my mistakes in my night prayers and ask for forgiveness.

God knows the heart of people thankfully and knows who can handle what,  I would love a more intimate relationship with God but I've got to stop the things that get in the way of that happening and sometimes it ain't easy but thankfully Jesus knows what it's like to be human and intercedes when the accuser shows up.

Thanks again for todays devotional pastor ✌????

YES,I WANT TO HEAR HIM MORE CLEARY...SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAT MY DREAMS REALLY ARE...I PRAY FOR WISDOM, GUIDENCE, HIS UNDERSTANDING, AND FAITH TO DO WHAT HE WANTS... I THANK HIM DAILY, THROUGH OUT THE DAY  FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR ME AND WHAT HE IS DOING NOW.  PLEASE PRAY THAT HE WILL REMOVE THESE NEIGHBORS THAT ARE KILLING CATS & DOGS AND WILDLIFE... I ENJOY THEM.
