He succeeded in everything he undertook. But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart. 2 Chronicles 32:30 NIV
Hezekiah was a great king in Judah who followed the Lord closely. At his prayer, God sent an angel and wiped out 185,000 Assyrians who were coming to attack Jerusalem (2 Kings 19:35). At his prayer, God healed him and added fifteen years to his life (2 Kings 20:6). Still, there was a time when God left him to test him and to know what was in his heart.
When a teacher is teaching the class, you can ask all the relevant questions that you have about the subject and the teacher will answer them. However when the test comes, there is silence in the classroom.
I know scripture says that He will never leave nor forsake you, but there is a difference in the omnipresence of God which is everywhere and His manifest presence which may or may not be in the room with you.
Those are the times when there is no answer and your tears seem to go unnoticed. When you feel that God has gotten you out on a limb and then abandoned you. Know that you are not really alone. You are simply entering the test phase of what you have been learning. You continue on with the last word given until you have a new one. There is always silence in the classroom during a test.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You strengthen me and give me the grace to get through these times. Please reveal the pride in my life to me so that I can deal with it before it harms me, in the name of Jesus.
