The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchante...

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7 WEB.While his wife gave birth in a stable, the strong smell of farm anima...

A Lighthouse

  • Yahweh said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them." But Noah found favor in Yahweh's eyes. This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God. Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 6:7'10 WEB.

When the Earth had become corrupt, and the people's thoughts were only evil all the time, the Lord decided to start over, to reboot the human race. Only Noah was different from the rest. He was walking close to God, he was trying to do what was right, and therefore he found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah, his wife, three sons, and their wives were spared and survived the coming flood. Eight people were saved through Noah's faith in God (1Peter 3:20, 2Peter 2:5). "By faith, Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house" (Hebrews 11:7).

Scripture doesn't state that Noah's wife was particularly righteous, nor his sons or their wives. It only mentions Noah's relationship with God. "Noah was a righteous man," and "Noah walked with God." In the same way, when Lot was rescued from Sodom, his wife and daughters also went out of the city with him.

Let us be like Joshua, who said, "And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD" (Joshua 24:15).

In 1 Kings 11:31, when the people of Israel began to backslide and Solomon turned away from following Him, God decided to divide Israel. He told Jeroboam that He would give him ten pieces (tribes). But because of His servant David, He wouldn't give him all twelve. So David's life continued to affect how God treated his family line generations later. Isn't that amazing?

Serving God will affect those around you and those you care about. When you walk with God, it can influence your family line for generations. Your acts alone may not save them, but you will be a light to them, and God will draw their hearts. God can make you a lighthouse for those in need. Even the light of a small candle is bright when in complete darkness, and you may be the only light those around you can see. So keep that light burning.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for saving my family. I pray that my entire family comes to know You personally. Please touch them, draw them to You, get their attention. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: For those following the Creation Photography weekly challenges, here is this week's theme from group leader, Dianna Wyles: Deuteronomy 12:5 "But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go" ~ 'A Sacred Place' will be our next fun-tastic theme and, as always, is wide open for creative interpretation! Show us your special places, the spots that bring you closer to that divine connection. What venue setting helps you talk (and listen) to God? Where do you feel most at peace? You are also encouraged to post anything else that inspires you as well. Have a terrific week everyone ~ stay blessed as ever on this pre-Easter week! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Yes Lord. Draw my family, esp my daughters back to You. They once served you diligently. Put people and circumstances into my unsaved family members lives which cause them to turn to You and accept You as their Savior. In the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you for Your blood Jesus and what You did on the cross.

My husband is a believer, but he doesn't attend church or regularly read the Bible. I quote it all the time so he is learning a little bit regardless. My daughter is 17 and active with the church youth group. I pray she stays on the right path and doesn't take detours like i did!

I feel like you put this out there for me Lord. I pray everyday for my children and my nephew to melt their cold hearts and return them to you. If I can be the light for them, then use me as you will. I will gladly be the light for any who are seeking you. There are many lighthouses.
