For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won't delay. The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchante...

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

Such a Time as This

  • Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:12–14 ESV

John Wayne once said that courage is being scared to death… and saddling up anyway. Esther was faced with a decision that could have led to her execution. For her to go into the king’s chamber without being summoned was a death sentence unless the king pardoned her.

Her uncle Mordecai basically told her that if she did not go, that the Lord would send someone else, but that she would miss the boat. She was just a young girl and scared, but finally decided if I perish, I perish. After fasting and praying for three days and nights, she went on to meet the king and ended up saving her people.

It is easy to be strong when there is nothing to be afraid of, but faith is tested in the furnace like refined gold. Do not cower back from what you are facing today. You are here for a purpose. If God is for you, who can stand against you? If you withdraw, God will send someone else, but you will miss what He has in store for you. Stand strong, know that God is with you and that you are well able to face whatever comes your way.
