I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalms 27:13 WEB
David was now a wanted man and on the run for his life. Once a hero in the eyes of the people, the ones that he had trusted now sought to kill him. He was on the run when he wrote Psalm 27, either from Saul when Doeg the Edomite reported him, or from his own son Absalom who attempted to overthrow David as King.
When everything was against him, David strengthened his faith in God. He remembered the things that the Lord had done in the past (Ps 27:2). Then he confessed that he was going to see the goodness of God again. "I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!".
Sometimes you can do everything right, and everything will go wrong. Those that once loved you, now seem to hate you and when you pray, you may hear only silence. Be assured that the Lord is still there and nothing is hidden from His sight. Yes, it may look dark and hopeless, but that is not the end of your story. It is only a valley and there will be another mountain top. Real faith is tested when you continue to live right and seek God while all hell is breaking loose around you.
Remember what the Lord has done for you. Do not get beaten down in the trials of life. God has brought you this far and He is going to bring you the rest of the way. Stay the course and you will overcome. Take courage and know that the Lord is going to fix this somehow. Say it out loud: "I do not know how, but somehow God is going to take care of this.'
Prayer: Father, I pray that You lead me out of darkness and into Your presence. Come into my heart and help me make the right decisions today. I choose to make You a part of my life today. Please bring to memory the things that You have already done for me, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
We are in the middle of replacing the firewall, switching, and upgrading the Internet to Fiber. In the end, it will one-hundred times faster, from 20 to 2,000, but things are a bit hectic here at the moment. You may have received 20+ devotionals this morning. I did. Hopefully that will not happen tomorrow! We have been working on it since 3AM and are aware of the issues. Thank you for patience and understanding during the upgrade which will hopefully be over this week! God bless. 😀🙏
