In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost!" and they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! I AM! Don't be afraid." Peter answered him and said...

Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" He answered them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, But their heart is far f...

Working For The Weekend

  • As it was in the days of Noah, even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man. They ate, they drank, they married, and they were given in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ship, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26'27 WEB.

As Noah worked on the big boat in his yard day after day, life went on around him as usual. People were eating, drinking, attending weddings, and carrying on with their lives. They were completely unaware that the end was quickly approaching. Though Noah was a righteous man and preached to them (2 Peter 2:5), they didn't listen. They probably thought Noah was an old crackpot.

Then the day came when the door of the ark was shut, and the rain started to fall. Certainly, people scrambled to get into the ark after the rain started, but it was too late. Noah may have even wanted to let them in, but God sealed the door Himself. When the door was shut, those who were inside stayed inside. People who were outside remained outside. It was too late to say, "Hey, wait on me! I want to go to!"

The day is coming like a thief in the night when the Lord Jesus Christ will return to the earth like a bolt of lightning (1 Thessalonians 5:2-3). It will be an instantaneous BAM! and He is suddenly here. Coming as a "thief in the night" is not a silent attack. Thieves in biblical times were not like sneaky cat burglars. It was a sudden surprise attack with a dagger in the back and loud shrieking. I don't know what all will happen on that day, but Jesus warned us several times to not let it catch us unaware like the foolish virgins (Matthew 25:1).

Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. (Matthew 7:13).

It's pretty clear to me that not everyone will be saved, no matter how hard we try. Each person on earth has to choose for themselves, and this decision can't be made for them by others. Many are just too caught up in life to be bothered, eating, drinking, marrying, as in the days of Noah. Many are just working for the weekend.

God loves you, and He wants you to enjoy your life. You can still have fun. Just include Him in whatever you are doing. Don't forget about Him as they did in the past. When I go fishing, He goes with me. If I feel Him prompting me to do something else, well, I just do that instead. He wants a meaningful relationship with you. You will never be caught off guard if you just take some time to pray and listen. Remember, there is more to this life than working for the weekend.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I look to You today. Please walk with me, talk with me, and help me know You better. Speak to me in a way that I understand. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." (Prov. 3:5-6) ~ If you are in need of prayer, we and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

Pure Awesomeness! It is truth that not all of our loved ones will be saved.... This might be hard to take in, but it is reality. If I did not say Yes when He called me, I can see what my life would have looked liked. My journey with the Lord has been anything but an easy path, but I know, without a shadow of a doubt I am heaven bound and in that no matter what is going on here on earth, my destanation is booked solid , I long for that day, look forward to that day when I can meet the man who gave his life for me, chose me to adopt into His family and to secure me a home for eternity. Its the best choice I have ever made.

Thank you Pastor Dion for your messages, and all that you do for all of us behind the scenes. May God double Bless your steps today and may He meet those needs that only He knows about.
