The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchante...

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn. The Jigsaw Puzzle

  • For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEB.

We had scattered pieces all over the table while we worked on assembling a jigsaw puzzle. It was a total mess. This one was mysteriously difficult for someone had mistakenly, or intentionally, mixed a couple of other puzzles together in the same box. Now some pieces didn't belong there at all. Fortunately, we had a picture to go by, so it eventually began to take shape. When it was finally complete, the puzzle turned out beautiful.

God can see the big picture of your life while you can't. He knows the end from the beginning. He can see what pieces need to stay and what needs to be removed. After walking and cooperating with Him for a while, your life will begin to take shape. And when it's complete, it will be something beautiful.

Work with God, and allow Him to separate you from the things that don't belong in your life. He won't separate you from your friends or the things you love and want to keep around, like lust for greed. You have to hate it, guard against it, and separate yourself from it. For if He delivered you from something that you love, you would just return to it later. And for your sake, if He sets you free from something, don't return to it lest it becomes seven times worse (Luke 11:26).

We all have a free will to choose what God we will serve, just as Joshua and the Israelites did (Joshua 24:15). Calling Jesus Lord only gives Him a title. It's doing what He says that actually makes Him your Lord (Luke 6:46). You belong to whom you obey (Romans 6:16).

Yet, don't get ahead of God and throw out pieces He intends to keep. Work at His pace. You don't need to understand everything right now. He does, and that's enough. It's one piece at a time and one day at a time. It's line upon line, here a little, there a little. Eventually, this thousand-piece puzzle will begin to make more sense.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose You today. Please help me get in tune with Your plan for my life, and change what You will. Guide me, and help me make the right decisions. Teach me, and reveal Your path to me today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.' (John 5:14) ~ If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

This is an intriguing metaphor, Pastor Dion. Never thought of my life as puzzle pieces before. Lord, guide me through the pieces of my life and help me make the right decisions. Thank you. In Jesus' name, Amen
