The Rooster Crows

Posted by Dion Todd May 29th, 2015 15,172 Views 0 Comments

And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times. And he broke down and wept. Mark 14:72 ESV

After walking closely with the Lord Jesus for over three years, Peter had denied that he even knew Jesus three times in one night. Earlier that evening, Jesus had even told Peter this would happen, but Peter would not hear it. As he lied, Jesus looked right at him (Luke 22:61) and Peter went out and wept bitterly.

Looking back over the mistakes in his life, Peter probably regretted this moment above them all. He was one of the closest companions of Jesus and part of the inner circle. Now he had denied that he even knew Jesus three times. But his story does not end there. Peter got up, and followed the Lord again and his greatest days happened after this incident. He could not change the past, but he would make the best of his future.

Everyone falls, but not everyone gets back up. The Lord knew what Peter was going to do. He told him this before it happened. Jesus loved him anyway. The Lord knows our weaknesses and our frailties. He knows that we will fail sometimes. It is important that you get back up. Though the righteous may fall seven times, they rise again (Prov 24:16).

When you stumble, tell God you are sorry and try it again. Do not give up. Do not throw in the towel. We all fall down. Be the one who gets up and fulfill the Lords plan for your life. Do it now. No one can change the past, and fortunately His plan for you is not behind you, it is ahead of you. Stop looking behind you at the things that you cannot change and make the best of what is left, like Peter did.

Prayer: Lord please show me all that you have for me. Help me become the one that you want me to be. Draw my focus away from my past, and toward you, in the name of Jesus.

Leisel, We will see a new Jerusalem after the 7 year tribulation, do you think? Or will the new Jerusalem be in Heaven? It seems like Jesus would bring us to Heaven during those 7 years of tribulation. We will get a foretaste until the 7 years are over and then come back to live on earth called the New Jerusalem. I am just guessing about that. I am not really a Prophet!

Well, according to the word of our Lord and God, there will be a new Jerusalem descending from above! That's good enough for me, I've learned patience from the Lord as I'm growing older, will be 74 in November! I'm waiting for Him to complete and finish His plan for all of us, and thanking Him for letting me be part of His plan! Take good care of yourself, dear sister! 🙏🤗❣️

Amen to that, Nell! Oh, I wish I could go to the Holy Land, I want to walk where Jesus walked and where He prayed and where He suffered and died for us, and then rose again!!! 🙏 Also, thank you so much, Pastor, for the many hours spent and endless work to expand the outreach making it available to so many more, God bless you!!!🙏
