And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 ESV
David was distressed. He and his men had wept until they no longer had the strength to weep. When they returned to their town, they had found it burned to the ground and all of their wives, children and belongings had been stolen. Now the six hundred men, who were Davids trusted friends, spoke of killing him themselves. David was alone in the crowd.
David turned to God for the answer. He asked God if He should pursue the Amalekites, and the Lord answered him that day and told him to pursue, for he would recover all. David and his men went after a much larger enemy force, defeated them, and brought back everyone and everything that had been taken from them. Nothing was missing (1 Sam 30:19).
Sometimes it is just you and God, and you have to make the best of it. Especially when those that you once trusted, turn into your enemy. When the world turns its back on you, He is still there. When you feel alone in the crowd, God is still there.
When David was completely alone, he turned to God and received the answer because a word from the Lord changes everything. Talk to God, build yourself back up, ask Him for the answers, strengthen yourself in the Lord. Whatever you do, dont give up because God is able to help you recover all and make a bad situation, a victory.
We are in the middle of replacing the firewall, switching, and upgrading the Internet to Fiber. In the end, it will one-hundred times faster, from 20 to 2,000, but things are a bit hectic here at the moment. You may have received 20+ devotionals this morning. I did. Hopefully that will not happen tomorrow! We have been working on it since 3AM and are aware of the issues. Thank you for patience and understanding during the upgrade which will hopefully be over this week! God bless. 😀🙏
