The Bumpy Road

Posted by Dion Todd February 17th, 2015 3,943 Views 0 Comments

But Ruth said, Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. Ruth 1:16–17 ESV

Ruth walked along the road thinking about what had recently happened. Her husband had died, her father-in-law had died, and her brother-in-law as well. Now it was just her and Naomi her mother-in-law, and they were penniless.

Naomi urged Ruth to turn back and go home to her family, but Ruth clung to her. Ruth told Naomi, “Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay.” Even though much hardship lay before them, that is where Ruth’s destiny was. God blessed Ruth after this, and she is in the lineage of Jesus.

Sometimes we find that our destiny lies down the difficult path, and while on the way we are given a choice to turn back. Many turned back from following Jesus. Stay the course. God will fulfill His promises to you just as He did with Ruth, though it can be a bumpy road along the way.

Site update #586: I completed a large update to the Audio Library on the left sidebar. There is now a live service archive of all past services, full-length in case you miss a service and want to catch up, as well as all of our original music. You can download the .mp3 files directly to your device now to listen when you don't have internet. I also added a pop-out player so you can listen without remaining on the page. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. 😀

What a blessing, Pastor Dion! The audio library page is easy to navigate and I truly appreciate the pop-out player, as I have many tabs open during my computer sessions and this allows me to keep the music flowing. Well done! 😊🎶

sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
