At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me. My counselors and my lords sought me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King ...

After a little while again those who stood by said to Peter, "You truly are one of them, for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it." But he began to curse, and to swear, "I don't know this man of whom you speak!" The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus sa...

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB.As I writhed in pain in the chair, the dentist wrestled on with the split tooth. It was very painful, and I didn't want him to touch it, let alone tug on it like ...

The Closed Door

  • When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit didn't allow them. Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him and saying, "Come over into Macedonia and help us." When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the Good News to them. Acts 16:6-10 WEB.

There was a season in my life where I really caught fire for the Lord. It was a personal revival. I fasted, prayed, and listened to the Bible twenty-four-seven for weeks. Then I began to pray for the Lord to remove anything in my life that was holding me back from being closer to Him.

Everything was rosy for about two weeks. Then I was called to the office at work and laid off. I had worked a twelve-hour shift on the weekends and could not attend church for several years because of it. Well, now I could. But, for the first time in my life, I stood in the unemployment line asking, "God, where are you?"

During this time, I looked everywhere for work, but I found nothing. Finally, after an interview one day, a painting company hired me over the phone. They told me to be ready to start the following Monday morning. Monday came, and I drove there. On the way, I prayed that the Lord would keep me in His perfect will. That He would close any doors that He didn't want me to go through and open the right door for me.

When I got there, they had already hired someone else that they thought was me! It was a bit disappointing but was what I had prayed for. Eventually, the right door did open up somewhere else. I went to work and led several people to the Lord during my time there.

Don't fight the closed doors. Be appreciative. They are tangible signs of God's love for you. A confirmation that He is guiding you and that He has something better right around the corner.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please close the doors that I should stay out of and open the door that I am supposed to go through. I want Your perfect will to be done in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: For those participating in the Creation Photography weekly themes, here is this week's challenge from group leader, Dianna Wyles: 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" ~ Our next fun theme will be 'New Life' and will be for the next 2 weeks as I will be taking next week off. I return to work on the 6th so we are just taking my last week off to fully enjoy feeling better before my return. As always, our themes are wide open for some creative interpretation Also we encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos this week reflect some of the new life we see around us, including the new life Dave is breathing into our zen garden area! What a sweetheart building me my dream herb garden! He really is the best match God could have gifted me A lifetime of ups and downs and here we are still standing strong in God's love and light! We are truly blessed. Have a fantastic Easter everyone and God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Amen! Whenever the Lord closes a door, He'll open a window, but we have to be patient and wait on Him - that's my testimony, for I've been always so impatient and it took a very long time for me to just wait on the Lord and His timing for my life!!! The very first step was to accknowledge Him, surrender to Him, grow and wait! Thank you Lord for being so patient with me and accepting me as Your child!  "Thank You Lord for saving my soul - thank You Lord for making me whole!!"

So true.  When I look back over my life I can clearly see His guidance through the opening and closing of doors.  Unfortunately, being stubborn and wanting to do things my way, I see the times I pushed and pushed through closed doors and ended up in bad situations.  Situations for which I ultimately  paided dearly for, due to my own choices.  However, being the everloving God that He is, once I turned my will back over to Him, He initiated plan B for me.  This is a daily, constant choice I have to make due to my strong self will.  God always amazes me in just how much He loves and cares for me and my life, even the smallest details.
