God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence. 2 Samuel 22:3 WEB.David sang this the day the Lord delivered him from all his enemies. Where others saw nothing, David could see the work of the Lord thr...

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are ...

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. The Pianist

  • I have said these things to you, while still living with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you. John 14:24 WEB

As I look at my piano, there are twelve notes repeated across its keyboard. Only seven ivory keys and five ebony, yet a talented pianist can make endless music out of these twelve notes. They can play love songs, sad songs, happy songs, classical and so much more. Every day they may compose something fresh using those same twelve notes.

The Bible has a set amount of words, but the Holy Spirit brings something fresh out of it every day. Each time that you read it, you may learn something new. It is the Holy Spirit that reveals this. Peter and John were uneducated men, yet the teachers of the day were astonished at them (Acts 4:13). It was because the Holy Spirit taught them. When Peter preached his first sermon under the power of the Spirit, about three thousand people were saved (Acts 2:41).

When you read your Bible, first pray and ask God to help you understand His word. The Lord Jesus said that the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send, will teach you all things. There is no way around that. Just as a pianist can compose a new song, the Holy Spirit can bring new light to an old scripture. With His help, the Bible is an endless volume of relevant knowledge, a living book, that is always fresh and amazing.

Prayer: Father, please teach me Your word. Help me understand and remember it. Clear my mind of bad things and bring Your scriptures to remembrance when I need them, in Jesus name I pray.

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield So true--when the Holy Spirit enters a person, the sudden knowledge of Scripture is amazing--to me, it seemed as if blinders were removed from my eyes and my ears opened-which is a really strange analogy since I am DEAF--LOL! All I know for sure is: After my "near death" experience last December, I had an incredible desire to  read my Bible, and actually look forward to doing so! Blessings to all, Kathy

Carol Pady
Carol Pady The Holy Spirit opened my eyes to see and my ears to hear as a young woman reading in the New Testament. This was the day Scripture came alive and through this powerful Spirit I found Jesus and my heart sang with a joy that overwhelmed my broken spirit! A joy the nothing will ever compare to ! A release from all the burdens of sin ! I radiated the glowing joy of Jesus for days after! I will always remember the moment when my Savior became my dearest beloved ! His Holy Spirit opens my eyes and gives me comprehension and clarity as I read God's Word.  Thank you Jesus for Your precious gift of salvation!
