Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Don't fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel." The Hidden Well

  • God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, "What troubles you, Hagar? Don't be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation." God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink. Genesis 21:19 WEB.

Hagar wandered in the dry desert of Beersheba with her young son, rejected, alone, despised, homeless, an outcast. Eventually, she ran out of water. When all her hope was gone, with her son about to die of thirst, she sat down and wept bitterly. God heard the crying, and He opened her eyes to see a well of water nearby.

An exciting part of this story is that there was plenty of water near her, but Hagar could not see it. Her crying caused God to open her eyes and enable her to see resources that were already around her. We can have 20/20 vision and still be blind (Revelation 3:17). God is our ultimate source and supplier. We should not rely only on what we can see or obtain with our own eyes and strength.

God will hear your cry too. There may be a well of water right beside you as you walk through your own personal desert. Sometimes He can make a little go a long, long way. Cry out to the Lord and put your trust in Him. It is He that causes the blind to see.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please open my eyes to see the hidden resources around me. Help me put what You have already given me to the best use. Help me make the right decisions and provide me with wisdom in life management. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.' This is an excellent prayer "Father open my eyes."
since I've been praying for awhile, I now see provision I never experienced before, and behaviors I need to lose (repent and change) etc...

thank you for this word! God will provide, our hope is in him.
