The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchante...

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

Fire in the Rain

  • Let us acknowledge Yahweh. Let us press on to know Yahweh. As surely as the sun rises, Yahweh will appear. He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain that waters the earth. Hosea 6:3 WEB.

During the long hot summer in the south, the fields can sometimes get so dry the crops appear dead. One thing they need to restore life and make everything alright is a good rain shower. Once the rain comes, the fields quickly spring back to life. The plants start growing again.

There was a season in my life where I became borderline burnout. We had overly served at church for several years, and it was just too much of a good thing. The harvest was plentiful, but the laborers were indeed few, and most of those seemed lazy. It became a dry and cynical time in my life.

Some friends invited us to a Christian conference about three hours away, and we reluctantly agreed to go. The conference lasted for three days. On the first day, we joined the meeting, and it opened with great praise and worship, followed by an anointed message. By the end of the day, I was feeling some better.

The second day was the same. Soon I began to feel something inside of me coming back to life, like a fire being breathed on. By the end of the third day, I was completely refreshed. I had a renewed vision for our life and a fresh word from the Lord. I left that conference walking on air, refreshed, and thrilled to be alive. I caught fire in His abundant rain.

Many times in scripture, God's presence is compared to rain on dry and thirsty land. It is the one thing that can bring healing, satisfaction, and life where there is none. Hopes and dreams thought to be long dead will suddenly spring back to life. There is nothing else like being in the presence of the Lord.

Our lives can get so busy, so full, yet at the same time, be so empty. There is only one thing that will make everything right: Spending time in the Lord's presence. As we spend time with Him, He makes the rest work out for us. He gives us clarity and fills the emptiness. It is like replenishing rain on the parched ground.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please send Your rain on me. Rekindle the fire within me and breathe Your presence on my life Lord. I want more of You. I want to actually live it and not just talk about it. May Your will be done in my life as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: For those participating in the Creation Photography weekly themes, here is this week's challenge from group leader, Dianna Wyles: Proverbs 22:6 "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." ~ Our next fun theme will be 'Family Moments' and is open wide for creative interpretation! We encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos this week reflect just a few of my favorite recent family memories. The time spent with my momma before she transitioned to her heavenly home will be forever cherished as will the rest of the many wonderful family moments. I am blessed with on the regular. Have a wonderful week filled with many blessings and much love. If you have children, point them in the right direction so even when they are old they will know the way to go ~ God bless! Heavenly Father we are in need of You at all times, when we feel as a dried soil in need of rain. Fire us up to keep going through this journey and give us the strength to follow Your designs. In Jesus Christ name we pray, Amen. Your will be done on us as in Heaven.

Thank you Pastor for leading us to the Lord's word,God bless you and Sylvia.
