Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" The Little Seed

  • Hear, then, the parable of the farmer. When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. Matthew 13:18 WEB

Once while praying about something, I felt like I heard a small whisper back from the Lord encouraging me to go ahead with what I was praying about. Then immediately afterwards came doubt, unbelief, and a feeling like 'That's not God, it's your imagination.' So I prayed about it again, and this scripture came to me very clearly, 'the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart.'

Answered prayers start out as a little seed, but as you continue to believe, they will grow into something beautiful. When the Lord speaks something to your heart, the enemy immediately tries to bring doubt, unbelief, and confusion into the situation. It is an attempt to stop the positive effects that God intended. The enemy wants to kill your dream before it can take root, before it gets started, to prevent you from stepping out into what God has for you.

God works in our lives with His word: 'He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves' (Psalms 107:20). This includes the 'Logos' (the written word) and the 'Rhema' (the spoken word). When Jesus said: It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God' (Matthew 4:4), He used the Rhema word.

God is not dead and He will still speak to us today if we will listen. Jesus said many times: 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says' (Matthew 11:15, Mark 4:9, Mark 4:23, Luke 8:8, Luke 14:35, Revelation 2:7, 2:11, 2:17, 2:29, 3:6, 3:13, 3:22). Many are spiritually deaf today, but you don't have to be like them.

When you pray and get a positive response, believe, hang onto it, and step out in to what God has for you. If you fall, He is able to catch you. If afterwards you have feelings of doubt and fear, you can bet that the enemy is trying to thwart God's plan for you by holding you back. Do not let the enemy scare you away, from what God has in store.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I choose to believe, help me overcome my unbelief. I want more of You in my life. I want to serve You with my whole heart, and to know You intimately. Please come and be a part of my life today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen!
