Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13 WEBThe disciples of Jesus were mostly uneducated fishermen, but later people lined the streets hoping that the shadow of Peter would pass over them (Acts 5:15). Peter had become more than a simple fisherman because He had wisdom, anointing, and power, from an unseen Source. There is certainly nothing wrong with an education, but if it turns you away from God, then you would be better off without it. There is a wisdom available that is far greater than what man can teach you, and it is gained by spending time with Jesus.
I grew up on a farm in the country, but I learned computer programming by prayer and practice. It was something that I really wanted to do and at the time, there were no books available to me. Even now when I get stumped on a project, I spend some time in prayer, and soon He reveals the way to fix it. Suddenly I know what the problem is. You can call it inspiration, coincidence, or my imagination. All I know is, I have a problem that I don't know how to fix, I pray about it, and soon I do.
I had no idea that I would be using those skills for His kingdom one day, but He did for He gave me the desire to begin with. So don't become discouraged if what you want to do seems difficult at times. Take it to the Lord in prayer. He has all the answers, and He can make it happen, but He does not do it all for us. He allows us to be a part of the solution. Spending time with Jesus will make you smart.
Prayer: Heavenly Father please anoint me, reveal the gifts that You have placed in my life and help me use them for Your kingdom. Please guide me into the place that I am supposed to be, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen!Note: For those participating in the Creation Photography weekly themes, here is this week's challenge from group leader, Dianna Wyles: Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity." ~ Our next fun theme will be 'Friendship' and is wide open for creative interpretation as always. We also encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos this week reflect a few of my favorite people My Hubby, and family, my work family and bestie, my son-in-law and his fire fighting crew (Praise God for the Firefighters) and last but never least>> always first >>> God is my very best friend and I love the gifts he sends us!
