For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. Je...

Yahweh said, 'I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.' But Noah found favor in Yahweh's eyes. This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man,...

Of the angels he says, 'Who makes his angels winds, And his servants a flame of fire.' Hebrews 1:7 WEBWhen the preacher walked past our row of seats, it seemed like you could feel heat coming off of him. When he looked at you, it was as if he looked straight into your heart and saw how black that it...

The Appointed Time

  • For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won't delay. Habakkuk 2:3 WEB

About thirty years ago, the Lord gave me a word that I would be a pioneer of new things in ministry, and to begin to prepare myself for it. I was so excited and I told some friends, but they thought I had 'lost my senses.' Looking back on it, I guess it would have been hard for others to believe. I was no one, with no education, and from a long family line that did not even attend church. Dad owned a dust-covered Bible, but no one read it, and almost everything they told me was in it, was not. Most of what I knew turned out to be the traditions of men, and personal preferences.

I believed what the Lord had told me and started attending a nearby Bible college, and eventually earned a degree in theology and became an ordained minister, but instead of Him putting me into ministry, I ended up working on computers for the next twenty years. I thought I had missed God somehow, or maybe sinned one too many times. Eventually I forgot about ministry altogether.

Instead of ministry, the Lord pushed me into my own computer business. Over the years, I became skilled at it and worked on computers, websites, and the servers and infrastructure that ran them daily. Then suddenly He shut that door, the business tanked, and the week that we were preparing to move out of our home, I ended up in full time ministry as a pastor. Now we find ourselves building an online church using the computer skills that I learned along the way, and we are beginning to do new things in ministry. The best is yet to come.

God rarely calls the qualified, but He qualifies the one that He calls. God's voice brings faith with it, and your friends who did not receive the word will not understand, but that will not matter or change your course. The word is for you alone, and those around you may never understand. Jesus' family did not understand Him either. They thought He had 'lost His senses' (Mark 3:21). He said 'A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house' (Mark 6:4).

When God calls you to do something, He will also give you the faith to complete it. If you feel that He has not yet called you, then volunteer like Isaiah (Isaiah 6:8). Here I am! Send me! Don't give up during the training, or when it does not happen overnight, for no one can stop God's plan for you, except you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please make the vision clear and me steadfast. Help me to hold on to Your word and give me the grace to get through this. Help me focus on the right things and to keep in step with You. My life is Yours, in the the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those participating in the Creation Photography weekly themes, here is this week's challenge: Esther 9:28 "These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city. And these days of Purim should never fail to be celebrated by the Jews'nor should the memory of these days die out among their descendants." ~ In the spirit of self care I have decided to take a week off here at RHM and all responsibilities for that matter, so our next fun theme 'Days Gone By' or 'Memory Makers' will be a two-week theme. Our themes are always open wide for creative interpretation and we encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos this week reflect some of my favorite memories from our precious moments with family and the beautiful scenic drive we experienced on our journey of love What I have learned is you can't go back and change past regrets or hurts. You can however surrender into forgiveness, giving it all over to the source of all creation: our loving Father, who is waiting with open arms to carry you through anything you may be going through in any given moment. So remember the love and forgive the past <3! Reach out to those you love and let them know how valued they are while you still have that chance on this side our Father's heavenly home. Be blessed my RHM family! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Great devotional, Pastor. Your life story is very inspirational and illustrative. You should really consider writing your autobiography.
