Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, 'Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.' Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, 'Come! Let's meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono.' But they intended to harm me. I sent messengers to them, saying, 'I am doing a great work, so that I can't come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and come down to you?' Nehemiah 6...

Website Migration:

Notice: We will be migrating to our new website over the next week, and hopefully things like email delivery will improve. During the transition, no emails will be sent. The latest devotional is always posted at the top of the devotional list. So bookmark it, create a shortcut, make it your homepage, or write the URL down on a napkin so you can find it later :)

Notice 4/13/24: The new RHM website is live and ready! This current site will be replaced on Sunday evening 4/14. You can sign into the new website and subscribe to the devotional now. Here is the link to getting started. The live service will take place here on Sunday morning before the move. Thank you for your patience and prayers during this transition!

The Dream Police

  • His brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, and they hated him, and couldn't speak peaceably to him. Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him all the more. Genesis 37:4 WEB

The Lord gave Joseph a dream when he was just a young boy and showed him that one day, he would be promoted above his brothers. He was so excited that he told them about it, but they became even more jealous than they were before. Joseph was already the favorite son in the family, and now this. "Who does he think he is? He is our little brother."

Joseph traveled a long hard road before that dream came to pass. He was sold into slavery, then falsely accused of attempted rape, then had to serve time in prison. Yet at God's appointed time, when it was supposed to happen, the dream came to pass and his brothers were bowing down before him. The nay sayers could not stop Joseph's dream, and the actions they took to prevent him from being promoted, actually caused it.

Be careful sharing the things that God has told you with the wrong people. Let the little seed grow and don't cast your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6). Often the ones closest to you, that you think you should share it with, will be the first to dash them to the ground. A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house. (Mark 6:4).

Hang onto to your dreams, remember them, write them in a journal, and be careful who you share them with. There will always be those that want to keep you beneath them, or want you to follow the path they are on. When you start to rise up, they will try to bring you back down. Just like the real police, anything that you tell them can, and will be used against you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please set a guard over my mouth and give me wisdom about what I share. Give me the grace to keep my mouth shut and smile when needed. Lead me into all that You have for me and make Your thoughts, my thoughts, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Our weekly RHM Live church service will be happening this morning at 10am EST. Join us for a time of worship, interactive prayer, and fellowship, and to hear what has been happening recently in our lives. To participate in the chatroom you need to have a site account, but if not, you can still watch the video of the study. Service starts at 10am EST, but all are encouraged to show up 15 minutes early for fellowship, and to make sure the stream is working for you before we start. Love you all! So very true! I speak from experience; sadly, the only family I now have is the one I created with my husband. Once again, thank you, Pastor Dion, for the timely message.
