You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James...

However you are just in all that is come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly; neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies with which you did testify against them. However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. Yes most assuredly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ and be...

Suddenly

  • If He comes suddenly, do not let Him find you sleeping. Mark 13:36 NIV

There was a time in our life when our business started failing and our income got less, and less, and then stopped. As the bills started piling up, we tried everything, but nothing seemed to help. We gave more, prayed more, fasted more, served more, tried to find any job possible and then as the last straw, we prepared to move out of our home.

After months of this, I no longer had the energy or will power to pray anymore. One morning during the week that we were preparing to move, I went into my prayer room and just sat there, mostly contemplating how much I would miss it. The Lord spoke to me that morning, and within twenty-four hours our life had completely changed for the better. That is how I became a pastor.

God closed the old out and brought in something new. It hurt to see the old go, but the new was so much better. God moves suddenly at what we often think is the very last minute. It is not to Him. He knew the day that the transition would take place and He was right on time. Our fear and worry were for nothing.

God knows where you are and He has the day marked on His calendar when your circumstance will suddenly change. Don't give up yet. We don't know the day or the hour, but the Father does and He will not be late, nor early. The change will come suddenly.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that you meet my needs and move in my life. Draw me into a deeper relationship with You and give me a fresh zeal today, in the name of Jesus.

Pastor Dion Todd God Bless you and your family. Your ministry is one of a kind as you don't know who is reading and needing the Word for each day, but God certainly is guideing you. Today Word is for me. My house that I bought 31 years ago was sold by foreclosure on December 2019. Today I am taking some of my belongings to a storage but  there is not much space for much of it. It's ok, things don't keep me alive, but God sustains life. Certainly I am expecting God's suddenly moving taking care of me, opening a new and better door where to live, my house was builded 74 years ago, needed a lot to be done new. Yesterday night I saw a sign on a bus saying "THERE IS HOPE". Yes Pastor Dion, I have HOPE that the suddenly of God is very soon going to surprise me, as Abraham believed with hope against hope when everything shows that there is nothing else but  end way. Blessings for everybody reading.

I have a bit of a long testimony to this very teaching.

For many years my husband had his own business, he developed a product and sold it through distributors.  It wasn't ever a BIG business, but it met our needs and we saved some money for retirement.

When the big recession hit, Andy's business dropped significantly.  He held on for 8 years or so, each year the business a little less and the hit on our 'retirement' money a little more.  As the cost of health insurance went up, so did our reliance on savings.

Two years ago, Andy was recruited, out of the blue (he wasn't looking), for a good paying Systems Engineers position.  Along with this job came some generous benefits and they were a casual dress company!  Right up Andy's alley:)

We thought Andy would work there for 10 years, or as long as he felt able, so we could build up our retirement fund as we do not have pensions.

But this past June he started having severe pain in his stomach and back.  And the atmosphere at the job also changed, new management and suddenly they were micromanaging.  Micromanagment crushed his entrepreneurs spirit.  And now the job wasn't'right up his alley'.  But more importantly the pain continued and became intolerable.

He was hospitalized the end of October and diagnosed with an agressive metastatic cancer.

He has stopped working, not the way he would of liked to.  But the benefits he has from this company are paying for most of the extremely expensive medical treatments.

Now that is the Lord's hand at work, providing benefits we didn't know we needed.

Andy was always extremely healthy, we never expected such a diagnosis, he lives a Boy Scout clean life, no drinking or drugs, he exercised and wasn't overweight or on any medications (except mild asthma).  I was always the one with health issues and depression.

Now I am the strong one, and I take care of him.  I am very frightened of the future, but this teaching made me reflect about Andy's job and how good it is that he took an outside job (as opposed to working for himself) after 20 years on his own.  It made me see the hand of the Lord in a very dark place.

It has made Andy more receptive to prayer, more evidence of the Lord at work.  We also talk easier and are gentler with each other.

Of course I pray for complete healing for Andy, but it is a little easier to face when I can see the Lord at work.

Amen! Praise the name of Yahweh God Almighty! This message is for me today as I stand outside a door that has been shut, unemployed once again because of an error on my part. As I await the next door that only God can open; I am humbled and I seek His face about my circumstance. I even seem to think that I wanted this job more than God wanted it for me. I think He allowed me to start this job to teach me a lesson. Any prayer for my behalf would greatly be appreciated. Thanks and may Father Yahweh bless....
