Or who is there among you who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! M...

Harmony

  • Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness Luke 4:1 WEB

In music, one of the most beautiful sounds is harmony. There is nothing like it when a band has worked hard on perfecting the backing vocals and maybe even a few instruments, all blending together into one great and full voice. Working together, all the background parts make the one up front really shine. The typical person listening would think that the one singing in the front sounds amazing, and fail to notice the supporting singers behind them.

David was led by the Holy Spirit (Psalms 51:11). Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1). The apostles were led by the Spirit (Acts 10:19). The children of God are led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14). Today Jesus is in heaven, and it is the Holy Spirit that is here with us on the Earth (John 14:16).

The Holy Spirit works with us and through us today. When we are willing to be led by Him, He makes us sound great. People think that we are so smart and we really shine when He is the invisible force behind us, the supporting singer in the background. He is our inspiration helping us to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right things to say. He will teach us all things (John 14:26).

Even though He is with us, we have to work with Him. We are His hands and feet on the earth. When He opens a door, we have to step through it. When He prompts us to give something to someone, we actually have to give it and not just mean to. It is not the thought that counts, but obedience. Meaning to do something for years, just means that you have not done it yet. When we feel that we should encourage someone, we do so.

'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God' (Matthew 4:4). That 'word' is the Greek word 'Rhema' meaning 'an utterance', the spoken word of God. A good example of a Rhema word is in Acts 10:19: 'While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, 'Behold, three men seek you.' That is what we listen for, and live by.

It requires working together, day after day, hand in hand, one situation after another. We work with the Holy Spirit to accomplish God's plans and purpose on the earth. Who will tell Bob about Jesus? It may be you. Be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and work in harmony with Him. There is no greater calling, and in the process He will make you shine and cause you to reach your fullest potential on the Earth.

Prayer: Lord Jesus please fill me with the Holy Spirit afresh and teach me to be sensitive to Your presence. Guide me today and use me. Reveal the gifts that you have placed in my life and train me to use them to their fullest potential, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: Matthew 2:1-2 " After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem (2) and asked, 'Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him'" ~ 'Wise Men Still Seek Him' will be our next fun theme. How do you still seek him? Our themes are open for interpretation as always so be creative. You are also encouraged to post anything else that inspires you as well! My photos this week (in the group) reflect how I still seek God in my each and every day, by connecting with nature in all its splendor, by seeking his daily blessings, and through serving others (to name a few). Stay blessed RHM family and have have a Merry Christmas - God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Amen! Thank You Lord! As we come to this time of year, let us remember why we celebrate. A King was born in Bethlehem years ago. He does not look like you or me, He never was meant to. He sent us the Holy Spirit in order to help us look more like Him. Keep that in mind as we move into 2020!

Thank You Pastor Dion for this Devotional reading. My oldest daughter name is Harmony. I named her Harmony for my love of music. About a week ago a woman entered the salon for a Hair cut. While I was cutting her hair she asked me was I saved. I told her that I have been saved and Baptised. When she was preparing to leave she told me to read the book of acts. And she also told me that Jesus is coming back one day. When she said that Jesus is coming back her face was filled with joy. She told me to read acts to read about the holy spirit. Over the last few years I have had some people walk up to me and talk about the Lord returning to the earth. Sometimes it seems a little scary after I had read revelations in the bible some time ago.

Thank you for this word today. I am always listening for the still small voice of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct me. When I am praying and quiet He speaks to me. Sometimes He gives me information of something that will happen. I instantly know in my heart that it is true and that it is the Holy Spirit speaking to me. I want to be more aware so that I can hear Him speak to me more often. When we were selling our house last year. I was praying that God would send us a buyer because I had lost my job and we were in jeopardy of losing our house if we could not pay our mortgage. Usually when people came by to see the house we would leave but this one time they wanted to come at a time we would be eating dinner so we said they could come but we did not leave. They noticed that we were believers and commented on that in a positive way. I told them stuff about the neighborhood that I hadnt told other propective buyers, how great our neighbors were and how they watch over our house when we were away. Suddenly I was looking at the lady and the Holy Spirit revealed to me that this was our buyers, He revealed to me that they would put in an offer in the next 3 days. This did happen exactly as He told me. When the offer came it was not a good offer so I was upset about this. The Holy Spirit told me trust me, Keep your eyes on me I can handle this. So I said okay. They did indeed buy our house and God worked out everything for us just as He said He would. God is so good to us even when we dont deserve it, He loves us so much! When we commit to putting Him first in our lives, He opens doors for us and blesses us immensley Thank you God for always being there for me and speaking to me and directing my path..
