The Comforter from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the work of the Comforter. Before Jesus’ crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, He promised the disciples that He would send Someone else to them. He knew that His time on Earth would soon be completed and...

Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed Jesus's feet and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment. For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEBWith scattered pieces all over the table, we worked on assembling the jigsaw puzzle. It was a mess. This one was seriously difficult because someone had mistakenly mixed a cou...

Total Eclipse

  • When they began to sing and to praise, Yahweh set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. When they had finished the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy each other. 2 Chronicles 20:22 WEB

'God sure seems needy' I thought as the preacher explained that God required us to worship Him. I was just a kid, but already something did not seem right for the Almighty God, The Creator of the universe, the Maker of the stars, to need little me to worship Him. I mean what's up with that? Why does the Almighty God need us to worship Him? Is He insecure in some way?

As I grew older and life happened to me, I learned that it is not about God Almighty needing anything from anyone. He is bigger than that. It is about us, and our focus in this life. When we magnify God in praise and worship, changes begin to happen in our own life. God becomes real to us. His presence becomes tangible. He becomes bigger and our problems become smaller.

Praising God brings the atmosphere in heaven, to the earth. If you praise Him long enough, He will show up just as He did with Jehoshaphat. When they began to praise God, their enemies turned on each other and Israel spent the next three days picking up free stuff. A very dark situation worked out better than anyone could have hoped for, when they began to praise God.

We live in a darkening world, yet God will have the final say, so don't let what's on the news shape your view of God's power. We should never limit God to our past experience for He is able to do something new. In the end, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of All (Philippians 2:11).

The sun is about 400 times larger than the moon, but the moon can completely block out the sun during a total eclipse and become all that you see. Because it is closer to us, the moon can appear bigger than the sun.

Problems work much the same way. When you focus on your problems, they will grow bigger and bigger, and soon God will shrink smaller and smaller. When you praise God, focus on Him and His word, then He will grow bigger, and your problems will grow smaller.

Praise the Lord today and don't focus on circumstances that you cannot change, for they are only distractions. Spend that time praising and thanking God for what He has already done in your life, for the things that He has blessed you with. Trust Him and remember what He has already done for you. Your future is in good hands. God loves you and He is at least 400 times bigger than your problems.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please help me to see past the problems. I know that You created the heavens and the earth and that you are in control of what happens in my life. Please let Your peace rest on me today. Send the Comforter to me, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: Isaiah 55:10 "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater" ~ 'Winter Wonderland' will be our next fun theme and is open wide for creative interpretation! I realize winter doesn't always mean snow'what does it look like where you are? Our mountains have snow but the valley is just cold and a bit wet right now. My photos (in the group) today reflect our Thanksgiving weekend with some beautiful creatures that share our California style winter wonderland. We were very blessed to see many this weekend! Enjoy your day, everyone, God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers

Dear Father I thank You for Your love and care, for being close to me and through me every day of my life. The problems of the world are just insignificant compared with Your power, and praises are to be to You at all times. Lead us and we will follow, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Awesome devotional Pastor, God bless you both.
