Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth dea...

By faith Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which ...

Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

Troubled Water

  • When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, 'It's a ghost!' and they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'Cheer up! It is I! Don't be afraid.' Peter answered him and said, 'Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.' He said, 'Come!' Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. Matthew 14:26 WEB

The wind and waves beat against the boat as the disciples crossed the Sea of Galilee. It had been a long night and it was almost morning, when an image appeared near the disciples, walking across the top of the water. It was Jesus. The disciples were terrified and thought it was a ghost, but Jesus calmed them. Then Peter, who tended to speak first and think later, asked Lord Jesus to call him out onto the water.

Jesus said 'Come' and Peter left of the safety of the boat, stepped out on the water, and started walking towards Jesus. When Peter saw the wind and waves around him, he took his eyes off of Jesus, became scared, and immediately started to sink into the water. Peter panicked and cried out for help. Jesus took hold of him, and they got back into the boat together. Then Jesus asked Peter one question: 'Why did you doubt?'

Peter asked the Lord for an opportunity, he got it, and then it became scary. Many of us ask for things in a passionate moment of prayer, and then later cry out in fear when it actually comes to pass. Once while I was fasting, I prayed for the Lord to remove anything that was holding me back from Him. I had no idea that it was my job, and I was soon standing in the unemployment line. He saw me through that season and I did become closer to Him. I had to learn to trust Him, but it was not pleasant to my flesh.

We have to be willing to leave the safety of the boat and our comfort zone to get the best that He has for us. Most will ignore this call just as the eleven stayed in the boat, but a crazy few will step out on the water and risk it all. Will you step out with nothing but faith to support you? Though it will be scary, Jesus still seeks those who will walk on the water when He calls them.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please guide me into all that You have for me. Place me where I need to be and reveal the gifts that You have placed in my life. Give me a clear vision of Your plan, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 "Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, Pray continually, Give Thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." ~ Our next fun theme will be 'An Attitude of Gratitude' and is open for creative interpretation as always. You are also encouraged to post anything else that inspires you as well. My photos reflect a few of the things that bring me to a place of profound gratitude. I am so thankful for my family, for nature, for heart blessings, and so much more! Stay blessed my RHM family! Rejoice! Pray!! Give Thanks always and God bless! Hallelujah Jesus you are so awesome and worhty of all praise. Help me to remain steadfast despite all the noise around me, as I continue to wait on you LORD Jesus. Thank you Pastor Todd, yet again.
