Judah said to his brothers, 'What profit is it if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? Come, and let's sell him to the Ishmaelites, and not let our hand be on him; for he is our brother, our flesh.' His brothers listened to him. Midianites who were merchants passed by, and they drew and lifted...

If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established. Isaiah 7:9 WEBEphraim and Aram formed an alliance and prepared to invade Judah, which terrified the people living there. When the people of Judah learned of the coming invasion, 'The hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees...

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. Je...

Your Purpose And Mine

  • They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples, 'Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.' But they didn't understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it Luke 9:43 WEB

Jesus told His disciples, 'Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men', but they did not understand it. Even though this was a very clear statement, they were all convinced that Jesus was going to be the next king, that the Messiah had come to deliver Israel from the Roman occupiers.

The disciples were filled with wonder because of the miracles that Jesus had been doing. They were also completely blind to what was soon coming. They were sincere, yet sincerely wrong. Instead of becoming a king on earth, Jesus was handed over to the Romans and crucified. He died, then was resurrected on the third day. Instead of Israel being delivered from the Romans, it was destroyed in A.D. 70 by the Romans and ceased to be a nation until 1948. The disciples did not understand any of this, but it worked out anyway because God took care of it.

I had so many questions when I really began seeking the Lord and studying the Bible in depth. I was confused about so many things, the rapture, pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, post-tribulation, the millennium. My wall was covered with charts and timelines as I tried to work it all out. I concentrated most of my Bible study in Revelation, Daniel, and Matthew 24. My room began to look like a scene from 'A Beautiful Mind.'

One Sunday morning, the Lord spoke to me through a visiting speaker from Texas that I had never met. I knew that it was God speaking through him for he had deep insight into my life, and even the books of the Bible that I had been reading. I could feel the presence of the Lord and I was burning and tingling all over. He called me up in front of the church and told me a lot of things, part of it was this:

'Son, you don't need all of the things to fit, Just allow your purpose and Mine to knit. And don't be so concerned about the end of the book, go back to the beginning and take another look.'

It changed my outlook, my focus, and my life became much more simple. Now I tend to my daily tasks and I let Him worry about the things that are beyond my control. I don't have to understand everything or have all of the answers. He does. I am just His servant, and I try and follow His orders for today. That is enough.

Know today that you do not need to worry about how all of this fits together or how it is going to work out. You do not have to understand everything. Just let your purpose align with God today and let Him take care of the details. He has a better view from up there than we do down here, and if it matters, He will tell you. We have a job to do while we are here, let us focus on that.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I turn my worries over to You for they are too much for me. There are so many things that are beyond my control. Please step into my life and help me bring things into balance. Help me complete my simple tasks today and to let the rest go, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: John 4:14 "but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.' This weeks fun theme will be 'Living Water' and, as always, is wide open for creative interpretation. You are also encouraged to post anything that inspires you as well. My photos this week reflect some of the beautiful water spaces around us that we like to visit as often as possible. Have a fantastic week everyone!! May you all draw water from the wells of salvation with joy in your heart and a need to share the Father's love with all you connect with. God bless! Wonderful message! We aren't supposed to know everything--some secrets will only be revealed when we leave our physical bodies.

Oh Heavenly Father I trust in You and ready to leave all my worries to You, sometimes my worries consume me as I try to solve everything coming my way. Take away my burden that I can't carry and strengthen my faith. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. Show me the way oh Lord.

Thank you Pastor, a great devotional and experience. God bless you.
