He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalms 103:10 WEBDuring our last road trip out west, we drove from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Long Beach, California. We traveled just over 2,800 miles on Interstate 40 and drove completely across the United States, from the east coast to the west coast. It was a fun trip and we got to see the heart of the country. I also fell in love with Texas with its warm, friendly people, high speed limits, and the best steak that I have ever eaten.
When we finally arrived in California, we could only see South Carolina in our memories. I was a long way from home and I thought of this verse, 'As far as the east is from the west.' Though we had only driven across the United States, I could see that the east is certainly a long, long, ways from the west.
When you repent, your sins are not just forgiven, they are removed from you. They are placed not just across the room, but as far as the east is from the west. Your stains are gone, your old chains are gone, and you have been set free from them. The only way that you can see those past mistakes is by looking back into your old memories. If you mention them again, God would not know what you are talking about for His forgiveness is complete. So leave the past in the past, and live your future in the freedom of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for Your forgiveness. You are so good to me and I appreciate it. Please send Your Comforter to me today Lord, fill me with a fresh fire, speak to me and through me in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.Note: Ladies, today is Thankful Thursday at the "Ladies in Distress" group (our RHM women's group)!
