Walking on Water from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the importance of believing the Lord, of shaking off the naysayers and continuing on your own journey. People have a tendency to not want you to go where they have not been. Leaders cannot lead you, where they h...

Out of that terrible travail of soul, he'll see that it's worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant, will make many 'righteous ones,' as he himself carries the burden of their sins. Therefore I'll reward him extravagantly' the best of everything, the ...

But Ruth said, Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. Ruth 1:16 ESVRuth walked along the road thinking about ...

The Pottery Maker

  • Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he was making something on the wheels. When the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then Yahweh's word came to me, saying, 'House of Israel, can't I do with you as this potter?' Jeremiah 18:3 WEB

A friend of mine owned a potter's wheel, and she was always making something beautiful. She crafted plates and bowls that came out so much nicer than what you could buy in a store. I was always amazed at how beautiful the pieces of pottery were when they came out of her kiln.

If the piece that she was making didn't turn out right, she would just take it back to the wheel and add a little water. In a few minutes she would spin a work of art out of that pile of clay. When she had it just like she wanted, she would hand paint it, finish it with a glaze, and then heat it in a furnace. After being heated, the finished product was so beautiful.

Many of us have become wrecked works of art. We start out with so much potential and promise, but all of that can become broken. The dreams that we once had can be shattered into a million pieces. What was once beautiful, can become dark despair. You might begin to wonder if you should get out of bed at all.

Know today that the Lord is able to put you back together. No matter what your life looks like now, there is still hope, there is still a future for you better than you ever expected. When the furnace comes on, do not panic, it is just part of the process. I have seen God take my broken life, and put it back together. He will do it for you as well.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please mold me into what You think is best, for I know that You are always right. You can see the big picture of time, where I can only see what has passed. Lead me and I will follow. Fix it Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
