Yahweh opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have mocked me, I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you." The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not yo...

Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Don't fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel." When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, "It is the king of Israel!" Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshap...

The Hidden Well

  • God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, 'What troubles you, Hagar? Don't be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation.' God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink. Gen. 21:19 WEB

Hagar wandered in the dry desert of Beersheba with her young son, rejected, alone, despised, homeless, an outcast. Eventually she ran out of water and when all hope was gone, with her son about to die of thirst, she sat down and wept bitterly. God heard the crying and He opened her eyes to see a well of water that was near her.

An interesting part of this story to me is that there was plenty of water near by, but for some reason, Hagar could not see it. Their crying caused God to open her eyes and to be able to see the resources already around her. We can have 20/20 vision and still be blind (Revelation 3:17). God is our ultimate source, not what we are able to see or obtain with our own eyes and strength.

God will hear your cry too, and there may be a well of water right beside you as you walk through your own personal desert. Sometimes He can make a little go a long, long way. Cry out to the Lord and put your trust in Him, for it is He that causes the blind to see.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please open my eyes to see the resources around me. Help me put what You have already given me to the best use. Help me make the right decisions and give me wisdom in life management, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Lord I am crying out to you, nevertheless, not my will but your will be done during this period of adversity in my Life.

I reflect over 2000years ago when Jesus was going through His test, He wished the Father would take the cup away and he said those very words nevertheless, it is not my will but thy will be done. And He arose triumphantly. Like Him I will arise out of my adversity in Jesus name.

Father, I have a new job. Open my eyes to hear the lessons I need to learn to become proficient in helping those I am there to serve. Help me to help them. Lord, please block the enemy and his negativity  as I attempt to serve and help others. Keep me focused on on why I am there and on serving you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

I loved this. It's a concept I think we all forget at one time or another.  We get so involved worrying about and trying to solve our problems that we don't see the solution that God has already provided right next to us.  I  have read this passage many times and never thought about that.

God's blessings are all around us we just need to pray to  be able to see them. Lord please Open my eyes to see the resources around me and all you have blessed me with. Help me to use all of the gifts  you have given me for your glory. Help me to always see you in everything I have and everything that I see. Help me to make the correct decisions and thank you for always guiding me and opening my eyes to your plans for my Life. I am so blessed and I know that you are my redeemer, my protector  and my provider.
