He said to them, 'Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there. Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them.' Mark 6:10 WEBWhen Jesus sent the disciples out to preach the good news, they often faced rejection. Jesus told them to shake it off, and then go on to the next town. There would be other people who would be glad to see them, waiting for them to arrive. The disciples were to try and share the good news, but never force themselves on those who did not want to hear it. When they encountered people like that, they were to shake it off and move on.
God has made you who you are, but the devil will always find someone who does not like you, or does not like what you are doing, or what you stand for, or maybe they are just jealous. Then he will put them near you so that you can hear all the negative things they have to say. If you do anything of value, there will be always be those that will oppose it. At Refreshing Hope, we have had people write to tell us they were praying that we would burn in hell because we said 'Thank you for your support' at the bottom of the devotional.
Shake it off, move on. There are people that would love to be around you right around the corner. Of course, you should behave correctly, but do not your waste time worrying about what someone else thinks of you. God loves you today, and what can man do to change that? Do not let someone else discourage you and hold you back from what God has in store for you.
Never be ashamed to share your faith boldly, but if they don't want to hear you, then shake it off, change the subject, and don't force yourself on them. When they talk about you and put you down, shake it off and move on. There are others that will welcome good news.
Prayer: Heavenly Father please speak to me and through me today. Put Your words in my heart and show me who to share it with. Turn me into salt that is good, and a light that is bright. Help me to shake off the bad, and focus on the good. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.Note: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people" (Ephesians 6:18). If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page:

Amen Lord
Thank you lord Amen
Amen!!! I have experienced this more than ever this past year. When my husband- a Pastor - and I first started dating, there were 2 female ministers who despised me. They treated me very poorly. I came to the church with skills and experience that were not present/active in the church. Instead of thanking God for sending the necessary help, they treated me worse and worse. There were times when I just wanted to step away from it all, but I remembered that Nehemiah didn’t come down off the wall. He was focused on completing God’s work, so I adopted the same mindset. I eventually confronted the ladies in love, but they denied their actions, told me that I was pretty much hallucinating, and then resumed their mistreatment of me. My then boyfriend tried to lay low to see if it would pass. As Pastor, he didn’t want to insert himself into my conflict and wanted to use wisdom and restraint. But when it didn’t stop and when they began to be nasty to others who were in good relationship with me (their attitudes were now affecting several others in the congregation), he also confronted them in love. They got upset with him and accused him of changing since I came into his life. (So not true.)
PART 2:
We prayed and prayed about the situation for months. And we too shook the dust off our feet. Well, just this past week, one lady stepped down from her position and said she needs to take a leave. The other lady was a no-show at church. We’ll see how this all transpires; but it appears that God may just be removing them from the picture.
Wow, what a difficult and unpleasant situation, Stacie! It seems that God is indeed working on it though, thankfully <3!
Amen, thank you Jesus!
Amen! Not everyone wants to hear what you have to say. I guess that is all in God's plan. Thank You Father for including us in Your plan.
Amen, Thank you God for everything and thank you Pastor for your word.
God bless. Amen

Amen! We have to develop a thick skin and learn to not take offense, to pray for those who speak rudely to us and about us and to strive to bring our message to those who receive it with open hearts.
Amen Carol.
Yes, help me to shake off the bad and focus on the good! Father, give me the right words at the right time with the right people, Amen!
Thank you for this message this morning pastor Dion, and I agree. It's unfortunate but there will be those people that don't like what you have to say or the things you do. And as you said, shake it off and move on. You don't have to engage those people or sink to their level, just go somewhere else and someone who values what you have to say may be there to greet you.
Very true, Tyler!
Great inspiration!!
Amen!
