Alone In The Crowd

  • And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 ESV

David was distressed. He and his men had wept until they no longer had the strength to weep. When they returned to their town, they had found it burned to the ground and all of their wives, children and belongings had been stolen. Now the six hundred men, who were Davids trusted friends, spoke of killing him themselves. David was alone in the crowd.

David turned to God for the answer. He asked God if He should pursue the Amalekites, and the Lord answered him that day and told him to pursue, for he would recover all. David and his men went after a much larger enemy force, defeated them, and brought back everyone and everything that had been taken from them. Nothing was missing (1 Sam 30:19).

Sometimes it is just you and God, and you have to make the best of it. Especially when those that you once trusted, turn into your enemy. When the world turns its back on you, He is still there. When you feel alone in the crowd, God is still there.

When David was completely alone, he turned to God and received the answer because a word from the Lord changes everything. Talk to God, build yourself back up, ask Him for the answers, strengthen yourself in the Lord. Whatever you do, dont give up because God is able to help you recover all and make a bad situation, a victory.

Caroline Ibarra
Caroline Ibarra Thank you for this word. My sister is going through a tough time in her marriage. I was saying something similar to her about a month ago. I told her to stop worrying and get back to including Him in her daily life, and ask Him to direct her steps. To stop trying to fight every battle herself. The police were called yesterday after he became verbally aggressive. Thank God it didn't get physical. But she told me, she will no longer try to stay and fight for half of all property and assets, she just wants him to give her 3 months, so she can save to move out. I also told her, even though they're are going through this, she still needed to pray for him and forgive him.

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield God  is the ONLY one who listens! This past Sunday, after church, I was freezing cold on the way home because the weather changed;it was COLD  and windy!; However, I neglected to bring a jacket or sweater because it was warm when I left the house! (I don't drive. I rely on my feet/legs  to take me where I need to go!)Well, you may not believe this (my son didn't!) but one block away, lying on the curb, I found a discarded hunting vest--fully lined, with 6 huge pockets that all had convenient Velcro closures! (I can't manipulate buttons due to arthritis) Inside one pocket was a nearly full  pack  of cigarettes---LOL! So, God really does listen!

Adrian Labuschagne This message is awesome as it relates directly to where my wife and I are at right now. It reinforces a exhortation I heard many years ago "READ THE WORD, ITS ALL IN THE WORD!!" Praise you for your wonderful blessing - may Jehovah's Grace shine in abundance upon you and your family.

Caroline Ibarra Awesome testimony...a couple of years ago my husband was without a job. I was working, but one income is tough to survive on. Well he was hired by a company that required he train about 45 mins away, for 2 weeks.I was grateful he got a job, but how the heck were we gonna gas up our Mercedes for the daily trip. We had $100 to last for 2 weeks til I got paid. I told my husband it'll work out we'll scale back on groceries etc. Two days before training is to start, I'm walking in our condo complex with our Grandson. He wanted to go right and I wanted to go left. Well I follow him and he drops his toy on the grass. What do I see literally stuck in between the blades of grass? $100 bill. Mind you it was so windy that day and it was stuck right there for me to find. I know that was God because it was a very public place. Needless to say God is always on time. Sorry this was long just wanted to share my testimony. Just trust in Him.
