Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Don't fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel." Dream Killers

  • Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him all the more. He said to them, 'Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: for, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and behold, your sheaves came around, and bowed down to my sheaf.' His brothers said to him, 'Will you indeed reign over us? Or will you indeed have dominion over us?' They hated him all the more for his dreams and for his words. Genesis 37:5 WEB

God spoke to Joseph in a dream and showed him his destiny, but when Joseph told his brothers about it, they became jealous and angry. Later, when they had him in an isolated place, they plotted to kill him, but compromised instead and sold him into slavery to some traveling merchants. This only pushed him closer to his destiny.

If God has given you a dream, believe in it. It will come to pass in the proper time, but be careful who you share your dream with. Do not throw your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6). Work towards your dream and do your part, but be wary of the dream killers for they do not see the potential inside of you that God sees. When God opens the door, step through it and be content until He opens the next one. As long you are submitted to Him, He will bring it to pass.

Most of the time the people that you grew up with will never see you as anything different, for they will not look any deeper than the surface. God looks on the heart, and He often chooses the small and weak to do the big and powerful. Even Jesus was considered to be just a carpenter in His hometown. His dreams, were not their dreams for Him.

'Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?' They were offended at him (Mark 6:3).

Hang onto God today, believe that He has a plan for You like He promised. Involve Him in you life and your decision making. Don't be disappointed when others do not see God's plan for your life. He is the One that will bring it to pass, not them.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for the plan that You have for me. I choose to believe in You today willingly. Fulfill Your plan for my life and guide me into all that You have for me. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those interested in capturing or viewing photos of God's creation, here is this week's theme message from Creation Photographers: "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6 ESV). The theme of the week is "Family Moments" and, as always, is up for interpretation. Please feel free to also post anything else that inspires you; we love seeing your creativity! Thank you all for being part of sharing God's beauty here at Refreshing Hope! Here is the link to participate in this group: Creation Photographers group
