Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said to Daniel, Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you. A stone was brought, and laid on the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel. Daniel 6:16 WEBAfter serving God faithfully, Daniel ended up being 'what's on the menu' when he was thrown into a stinking hole in the ground, full of hungry lions. I believe that Daniel sat at the bottom of that Lion's Den, with the starving lions eyeing him hungrily and thought: 'REALLY? This was the plan? What's up with that?'
Thank God his story does not end there. It turned out that it was a promotion for Daniel. The lions did not touch him, and after getting out he prospered under the king and had great respect. As a bonus, his enemies were tossed in and eaten so he did not have to worry about them anymore.
There have been times in my life when I have found myself in a stinking hole in the ground, right after trying my hardest to live right. Pray and fast for a few weeks, and then suddenly get laid off from work. What's up with that? In the end, every single time it worked out for my good.
At one point in stark contrast, I lost the best job that I had so far as a supervisor, and soon had to work at the worst job that I ever had, at one third of the pay. I was praying and fasting a lot of the time and I knew that God was in control of my life. I was submitted to Him and whatever He wanted, I wanted. I also knew that He was testing me, for it was so obvious, and the job was so bad that it was funny at times. This scripture kept ringing out to me:
'And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ' (Colossians 3:23'24).
So I made it into a game and set out to be the best worker that they had ever seen. My work area was immaculate. I swept the floors. I showed up early, stayed late, and soon I found myself the manager. Then that door suddenly closed and the Lord pushed me into my own business. It was a strange path of promotion.
It just may be that what you think is the 'worst thing that could possibly happen to you' is indeed your path to favor and promotion. Work heartily just as you were working directly for the Lord, and you will be rewarded. Smile, God is the real boss.

This message was right on time. I was told by the salon manager that my scores in my commission pay was very low. I have been working.at the salon 6 months. The company wants us to make 50 percent commission rather than to pay us hourly. These past few months I have been helping the manager stock shelves and answer phones when I'm not busy doing hair. I have been doing work that the receptionist supposed to do because I have not build up a clientele. I pray everyday, I take medication for bipolar disorder, and I go to my doctors appointments. I thought to myself I'm trying to do the best that I can. I pass out sales flyers when I'm not busy. My anxiety make me nervous and some days I'm scared to talk to people. I really have not been very happy with the job but I have to earn money. I'm trying to figure if maybe I should find another job or stay at this job.
Amen!
Thank you Pastor Dion for putting into words exactly what I want to say.
Amen!
Amen! Yes, it is the Lord God most high that we have to answer to, not seeking man's recognition and reward!
Amen

EVERY ONE HAS A BAD HAIR DAY BUT IN TURN ,IT'S ONLY A TEST FROM GOD, HE LOVES US AND WANTS US TO PROSPER. PRAISE THE LORD FOR GIVING US A SECOND CHANCE
Yes, I decided to work for the Lord years ago when I left a well known company. Bulked at by many there who thought I wasn't making the right decision. In time I worked in a ministery, that then led to another & to another. Always provided for. God was good and still is good even after I could work no longer. Pray to be a blessing in some way. He accepts me even now when I see me as Paul said in Romans 7:15....I see me in a change of life as my husband and I are in retirement. With changes that are big there is stress trying to go with a new way financially. The Lord is near as my faith in Him Holy believes. Before the road straightens out there are some bumpy places we go through together. Yet He is the designer of the road and one day at a time and we will settle in as time does bring new insights as we travel along. Grateful to the Lord that He is in charge ...Not me! Amen
