The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. Proverbs 24:16 WEB.Once again, I was the one who promised he would never do it again, then went and did it again. I had slowly drifted away one more time. I have found that it's easy to make promises...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

Men At Work

  • Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9'11 WEB

'I'm planning to commit some adultery tonight, pray for me preacher!' the man shouted at me as he left work that evening. I shouted back, 'I sure will!' The construction workers on the job site had began to taunt me with the details of their nighttime events after they saw me say a blessing over my lunch one day. This taunting was a daily thing, but I stood my ground and would quote this verse to them, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

The man shouting at me was a big guy and had been through the Vietnam war, He was hot tempered and bitter. He had once knocked a preacher through a screen door when he came to his house to pray for him. He would go out of his way to find me just to tell me: 'I don't believe in God!' and I would tell him 'You are going to, because every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.'

His words were just hot air, but my words cut him to the heart and you could see the expression change on his face. He started out loud and belligerent, but slowly grew more and more brooding and quiet. Soon he began telling others to shut up when they picked on me. I don't know what happened to that man, but the Lord tells us in Isaiah 55:11 that His word will not return void, but will accomplish its task. Soon enough there was another job site with another crew of mockers to contend with.

Never be ashamed of the Lord Jesus in the work place. The name of Jesus is above all names. It is above all sin, addictions, disease, bondage, bills, unemployment, bankruptcy, divorce, loneliness, and every knee will bow at the name of Jesus in the coming days. He can melt the hardest of hearts, break any addiction, heal any disease, raise the dead, and cleanse you from any sin. Even if you have hated Him in the past, Jesus is merciful, understanding, and can set you free today with a simple prayer. Jesus is the name above all names!

Prayer: Heavenly Father please set me free from the things that are holding me back. Give me the grace and boldness to stand in the face of adversity. Fill me with Your words and Your fire. Let me carry Your very presence wherever I go, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: "I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer" (Psalm 17:6) If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

Thank you for quoting Isaiah 55:11, this gives me great comfort, especially when I feel like a failure having tried again and again to witness to others and feel that I'm getting nowhere. It is easier to witness and talk to a total stranger, than a family member like a sibling or a parent. Thank you Pastor Dion!
