Let no man say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God can't be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth dea...

By faith Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which ...

Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers; But his delight is in Yahweh's law; On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That brings forth its fruit in its se...

One Day Closer

  • I have declared the former things from of old; yes, they went forth out of my mouth, and I shown them: suddenly I did them, and they happened. Isaiah 48:3 WEB

There was a time in our life when our business started failing and our income got less, and less, and then stopped. After months with no work, the bills started piling up. We tried everything that we could, but nothing seemed to change the situation.

When we advertised, it was like throwing money in the trash. When we gave, we just had less. When we fasted, we were just hungry. When we prayed, we just heard silence. We tried to find jobs, but found nothing but dead ends. Finally when out of options, and as the last straw, we prepared to move out of our home.

After months of this, I no longer had the energy or will power to pray anymore. Then on the Tuesday morning of the week that we were preparing to move, I went into my prayer room and just sat there, mostly contemplating how much I would miss our home. The Lord spoke to me that morning, and within twenty-four hours our life had completely changed for the better. That Friday I became a pastor.

God closed the old out and brought in something new. It hurt to see the old go and I wanted to keep it, but the new was so much better. God moves suddenly at what we often think is the very last minute, but it is not to Him. He knew the day that the transition would take place and He was right on time. Our fear, worry, anxiety, and despair was for naught.

I learned in the process that the test of your faith scales to match your level, and as we grow, the tests grow with you. Peter walked on the water with Jesus, then denied knowing Him three times. Not one of us is above failure, so don't beat yourself up. You are not the first one to have missed the mark, and you will not be the last. If you feel that you are the epitome of perfection and that God is lucky to have you, then you are still blinded by pride and believe me, God has a way of busting that balloon.

God knows where you are, and He has the day marked on His calendar when your circumstance will suddenly change, so don't give up yet. We don't know the day nor the hour, but the Father does and He will not be late, nor early. We are one day closer to it than we were yesterday. To us the change will come suddenly, but it was scheduled a long time ago.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for all that You have done for me. I yield to You today for You can see the end from the beginning, where I cannot see what the next hour holds. You know where I am, and what I need today. Please fulfill Your will in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:12). If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network

What a great way to think...we are one day closer than we were yesterday.   Much better than despairing at how far we think we have to go.

Amen! I love this testimony of yours Pastor Dion, as I too also have experienced a similar situation, and have have seen God turn things around what seems like overnight. While I feel he still has something in store for us that we have not realized just yet, our situation has improved dramatically. Your right he has it marked on his calendar and it will not be early nor late, he can see the beginning to the end where we cant see an hour ahead. Our Father is a Good Good Father. Amen!
