Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith. In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by works, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James...

However you are just in all that is come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly; neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies with which you did testify against them. For they have not ser...

The Outcasts

  • Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will save those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth. Zephaniah 3:19 WEB

My brother and I went into the garden once again and picked some bell peppers to eat for breakfast. After my dad left for work, my stepmother would put my brother and I outside, and then bring her children in for breakfast. She kept the cereal in a cabinet with a padlock on it so that it wouldn't be wasted on us. She had ten children of her own, as well as three stepchildren, of which I was the youngest. Later, when we became old enough to work, she began charging the stepchildren rent to live there.

We were the outcasts, the unwanted, and we were constantly reminded that we were nothing, and that we would never amount to anything. Her kids were older than us and felt that we were trying to steal their inheritance, and so they despised us. When you are treated as trash for so long, you begin to believe it, and expect it. I grew up with baggage that would scare many psychiatrists, but my story does not end there.

After all of that mess, God sought me out and turned my life around. It turns out that His heart is for the outcasts. God sees your suffering and what you are going through. God will change your shame into praise. When God gets a hold of your life, no one can stop Him and no one can get in His way. The ones that looked down on you will have to look up in awe at what God has done in your life, just like the half-brothers of Joseph looked up to him.

If you have been an outcast, know that God cares deeply for you. I am amazed how much God cares for the lost, the outcasts, the broken. He will truly leave the ninety-nine sheep behind (Luke 15:4) in order to seek the lost out. When He has found them, He rejoices.

Know today that if you are down, that He will lift you up. When everyone else hates you, that He will still love you. When they put you out, that He will take you in. When they say that you will be nothing, that He will mold you into something. God has a plan for your life. Surrender to Him completely, and never look back.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for Your mighty hand on my life. You see the broken and the needy. You rescue the outcasts. Lead me and I will follow You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen! Most of the people that I know that are truly used by God are oddballs and misfits to most of society. God has a very unique way of leveling the playing field.

God loves the outcasts, the rejected, the so-called losers of this world. It is the most broken people that can become the most devoted Christians. Perhaps its because we feel so useless and unloved that He loves to adopt us and put us to use and fill us up with His love. We have been unspoiled and beaten down by the world, already humbled deeply and even suffer from lack of self-esteem. He knows this makes us an ideal candiate for working for His kingdom. He loves to confound the wise by using the weakest vessels. We have a lot of broken pieces that He can work with to remake us into something beautiful. So the wise of the world will scratch their heads in amazement when they see how far we exceed their expectations. All to God's glory.

Heavenly Father I thank You for Your mighty hand on my life. You see the broken and the needy. You rescue the outcasts. Lead me and I will follow You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.Amen <3

Being the outcast can make you have really bad feelings about your self. It's sad that anyone would treat another human in a bad manor. Treat others as you would want to be treated and pray from the ones that act unkind to others. They need help their broken so they try to make others broken as they are. Sad that they can do this to another person. It takes some time to feel normal again and sometimes you never feel like your old self. You take a plate toss it on the floor and break it try to put it back together. That plate will never be that plate it was before. That's the way it goes for the ones that get broken in life too. So try and always be kind to others everyone is fighting their own battles. Amen <3

Thank your for todays devotion, Pastor Dion. :-)
