Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me; declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure; Isaiah 46:9'10 WEB.During a sci-fi n...

The Grocery Buggy

  • Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke 6:31 NIV

After coming out of the grocery store, I found that I had parked way out in the parking lot and did not really feel like taking the buggy all the way back to the store. I saw a few other carts nearby that people had left in the parking lot. As I thought of just leaving my grocery buggy there with the others, this scripture came to my mind: 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.'

I knew without a doubt that it was the Holy Spirit. Convicted, I gathered the buggies together and took them all back. It was a small thing, but God starts with small things, and if you obey, He will give you bigger ones. Imagine the world if everyone obeyed this one commandment. It would be an entirely different place. You could walk the streets safely, there would be no abuse, murders, robberies, and there would be a lot less divorce.

If you would like to make the world a better place today, try and follow this commandment. It is simple to understand, but by no means easy to do. He that is faithful in a little, will also be faithful with a lot (Luke 16:10). You can change the world one buggy at a time.

Prayer: Father, please show me the areas in my life that need improvement. Point things out to me that You would like me to change, in the name of Jesus.

Note: One of the groups we offer at RHM is "Count Your Blessings", which is simply a place to share God's many acts of love in our lives. All are welcome to join! Here is the link: Count Your Blessings

Amen! Every morning I pray that the Holy Spirit leads me through the day. I am often spoken to by the Spirit as I go about my daily tasks. Sometimes its a correction that I need to make or sometimes its just a confirmation of His loving care. He is always with me , just as my shadow is, sometimes I can almost see it, because the Spirit presence is so near and at other times I can just feel it welling up from inside of me. I can't touch it physically just as I cannot touch my shadow physically, but I can embrace it emotionally and spiritually. I am His and He is mine and the Spirit that dwells in me is confirmation of this wonderful fact.
