For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEB.We had scattered pieces all over the table while we worked on assembling a jigsaw puzzle. It was a total mess. This one was mysteriously difficult, for someone had mistakenly...

God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are ...

Sifted Wheat

  • The Lord said, 'Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat, but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn't fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.' Luke 22:31 WEB

Peter told Jesus that he was ready to go to prison and to die for Him if needed, which was a very bold statement. Then Jesus told Peter that satan had asked to test him, to sift him like wheat, to reveal what was inside of him. When they ground wheat to make flour, they would sift it to leave all the impurities behind.

This is what satan wanted to reveal in Peter, the impurities, and one of the big ones was fear. Peter was soon going to deny that he even knew Jesus three times because he was afraid. Then Jesus added, 'and when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.'

Jesus knew that Peter was going to be tested for a season, and that Peter was going to fail the test. He wanted Peter to get back up, to continue on, and to strengthen the others, even though he had failed the test. Sometimes we are tested to reveal what is inside of us to ourselves. Peter did not know that much fear was inside of him, until after the test. Sifting strains out the bad, and brings the hidden things into plain view.

Maybe in the past you have made a bold statement that you would serve God no matter what, and then the what happened and you failed. Get back up, keep going, continue on God's path. Jesus knew that it would happen before He called you, and while you were telling Him about it, but He called you just the same. He is not mad at you when you fail a test.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for You know best and I choose to trust You with my life. Please strengthen me and make me stedfast. Draw my heart to You and light a fire within me today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I think of how many times I have failed to be what God has wanted me to be and yet he still loves me. Then I think of my son who has fought addiction for 14 years and how many times he has failed - yet I still love him.. If me being a mere human can love my son unconditionally - how much more can God love us... very humbling thought.  Thank you for the reminder Pastor.

Amen, they say that as you walk through the dry times, you are being tested. They say the more extreem the calling on your life, the greater the test. Time will tell the answer! Heavenly Father, teach me your self!

Amen Jesus revealed to me recently through my writing the Holy Spirit book, that He knew I would backslide in my walk with Him and He had planned it for my good. He being all-knowing as Abba Father is all-knowing , He knew how I would stumble , what I would fall into and when I would return back to Him. Nothing I have ever done has taken Jesus or my Abba Father by surprise. He has used my failings and my weaknesses in my daily walk to create books to encourage others in their times of failing. Everything that I counted as complete loss and unusable, has been used the greatest, to teach me and train me up to serve Him. Our living testimonies are the tools of our faith, they draw others into a deeper and stronger relationship with our Jesus and our Abba Father as we share them openly with others. They are truly an effective way to reach the brokeness inside of others and confirm to them that they too are still able to return to Him, no matter were they have tread or how long they have wandered, He will take them back instantly and use what they have done to help other backsliders all for His glory.

Just how many times did I fail the test, especially when I'm way on top of the mountain and pride or what ever it is gets a hold of me because I did something right then sure enough something happens and I fail the test and I'm crushed. Thank you Lord that you don't give up on me that you are long-suffering and patient, praisee Your Holy Name!!!
