The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

The Hidden Well

  • God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, 'What troubles you, Hagar? Don't be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation.' God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink. Gen. 21:19 WEB

Hagar wandered in the desert of Beersheba with her son, rejected, alone, despised, homeless, and now an outcast. Finally, she ran out of water and when all hope was gone, with her son about to die of thirst, she sat down and wept bitterly. God heard the boy crying, and He opened her eyes to see a well of water that was near her.

There was plenty of water near by, but Hagar could not see it. Their cry caused God to open her eyes and to be able to see the resources around her. We can have 20/20 vision and still be blind (Revelation 3:17). God is our ultimate source, not what we are able to see or obtain with our own eyes and strength.

God will hear your cry too, and there may be a well of water right beside you as you walk through your own personal desert. Sometimes He can make a little go a long way. Cry out to the Lord and put your trust in Him, for it is He that causes the blind to see.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please open my eyes to see the resources around me. Help me put what You have already given me to the best use. Help me make the right decisions and give me wisdom in life management, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I have stretched and pulled the resources that I have had, I have searced the programs, and have indeed asked the Lord to open my eyes to see the hidden well. Tomorrow is Disability Pay Day , but while I wait, there is now .43 cents in savings, and $5.00 in checking. My gas tank is on 1/4 of a tank. My refridgerater has 5, 18 packs of eggs, coffee and creamer , 1/2 stick of butter,  and my freezer has in it 2 packs of 4 chicken thighs, 1 pack of spinach and 1 pack of ground lamb. I have counted out the personal itmes I have that are needed in hopes they will last till pay comes in and I can get to the store. I have learned how much it takes to run this household, how many rolls of toilet paper I need a month, how many papertowels ( which double as kleenex , napkins, and cleaning aids.). I know how much laundry soap it takes ( buying the one that has the fabric softner built right in to save $). Now if all my planning counts , I have just enough, but thrw in an illness, or a tummy bug, and more of what is just right is not just right anymore. I continue in prayer and ask God to show me the Well, show me the sales, lead me to the right timing of finding those markdown meats, do I have a coupon for that. Like this is the last week for the Kroger egg coupon, I can buy 5 cartons in one transaction of 18 count eggs at .69 cents a carton ( reg. $1.39). This has been a 5 week thing and I have gotten them for 5 weeks now. I have made egg bakes and the like. I was able to share two cartons with my handicap friend who can not shop in the stores. God has sent angels from heaven and He continues to show me the Well that I do not always see, and He shows up in the strangest of places. I repeat a lot " Jesus' said Don't Worry". Every penny He has placed in my hand is accounted for. I see His hand working on my behalf and all I can say is "Thank you Lord". I wish I could give Him a physical hug. Thank you for your message Pastor Todd.

Leslie, you may not understand this right now. You are getting the most valuable training, not many people are able to do what you are doing and still have praise in your heart. If you are wondering, I know that God is very proud of you and you will see this in time. The well is God Himself!

Better!  But the issue still remains!  I have congestion in my head & I can't breathe.  When I take a decongestant, it causes my heart to flutter really bad.  So I'm kind of stuck between a rock & a hard place!  Thank you for asking!  Love you!

Amen! As a child of God, we must remember that all the hard places, He can make soft, all the problems and tribulations thrown at us are no problem for our Abba Father. We must walk in "faith", not in sight. We must lean on Him in our blindness and let Him lead us through the dark areas into the light. Let Him remove the blinders from our eyes, all in His perfect timing, for down the road a piece, He will reveal what is unseen now. Just let Him be your guide and He will be faithful to keep your feet on that straight and narrow path that leads to Him. Full trust and full surrender, that is what is needed. Then Abba Father can and will work out His perfect will in our lives.
