Making up for Lost Time

  • For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. Psalm 5:12 ESV

Once while at church on a Sunday night, the pastor's wife said that she felt the Lord wanted me to get my G.E.D. as I had left school early to join the work force. I told her that I would look into it and Monday morning I went to the Adult Education Center. I went in and explained that I had been out of school a long time. They said would test me, teach me the subjects that I lacked, prepare me for the test and I should have it within six months to one year.

Tuesday I went back and took the pre-test. The test seemed easier than I was expecting; I was braced for much worse. I went back Wednesday for the test results to see what I needed to work on. The staff greeted me with a strange look and asked, 'Have you been studying for this?' I told them no, I had decided to do it two days ago. They were surprised and told me that I did not need improvement on any subject.

The staff then said it is a shame that you did not come last month as they only hold tests twice a year and the next one is this Saturday, but you have to sign up for it one month in advance. She said, 'let me call them', and ended up faxing my test and scores over to them. They had a cancellation and she got me approved for the test on Saturday.

Saturday, I showed up at the test location and took the test. How far is the earth from the moon? Hadn't a clue' got it right! I was one of the first to finish the test and when I returned to church on Sunday I had completed my G.E.D. from start to finish in one week. After that the Lord had me start Bible college. He had plans bigger than mine, and though I had wrecked them, He gave me divine favor to correct it.

Do you ever feel like you will never make up for those years that you lost? That you wrecked His plan for you? God's divine favor can make up for lost time and rocket past the normal.

Prayer: Father, I pray that you help me correct the mistakes in my life. Help me move forward and make up for the lost time, in the name of Jesus.

I often think of all my mistakes throughout my life up to now and ask the Lord to forgive me although I know He died on the cross for our sins past present and future was ressarected and sits at the right hand of the Father King of Heaven and earth. I ask for the people I hurt to forgive me and how I was in darkness then and how sorry I am for what I have done. I know That God has plans for my life though I wish I had a clue. I pray for Him to talk to me guide me help me walk the right way. Give me strength to make it through another day He has blessed me with. With His strength and love for me I'm able to get things done. Without Him I can do nothing.  I pray the Lord speak to me in some way that I can understand what I can do to fulfill His purpose for me. In Jesus Holy name Amen. Thank you Pastor Dion and Sylvia.  I'm sure you will be getting your computer soon.love to all Rose Sicilia

It seems to me that God loves to take broken human beings and remake them in the image of His Son. Serving God is the most awesome experience of them all, Father make each of us the righteous person You want us to be so you can use us for Your Glory!

I was 21 years old on a traveling ministry team in Texas.  I slept in host homes and lived out of a suitcase, traveling with 6 men and 6 women with The National Evangelization Team. I was also in my free time preparing for my graduate entrance, the GRE exam to the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Every time I took the math portion of the test, I failed.  How would I ever get into graduate school if I didn't pass?  I was getting so worried. My teammates prayed for me. It came time to speak to the professor for a phone interview. We talked and he said "you are accepted into the program". I said "what about the GRE?"  He said, " Don't worry about it, you don't have to take it."  Praise the lord praise the lord praise the lord. Amen. God wanted me into that school. He provided me with the funds and the entrance. Now I am a Christian counselor and I encourage the down trodden and lift up the lowly.  It's a hard job but I do love my work especially when I get to share my faith.

So so be of good veers cheer r. God will lead you where He wants you!!

What I think as mistakes I have made isn't how God looks at me, God takes all of me and shapes me into what He sees as something beautiful in His own timing, for a very special use. He has a purpose for my life!  Thank you pastor Deion for sharing how God has used you and your life for His glory.

Psalm 37:32-34; I should never be in dispare because God holds my hand. The steps of mine are established by the LORD; And He delights in my way, when I fall, I will not be hurled headlong; because my LORD is the One who holds my hand.

I believe when we are ready He gives us back the years the locust has eaten. We only need to be fully committed to Him and then He will make us ready to accomplish everything He had planned for our lives.

This really speaks to me, as when it seems like I have wrecked all my options for my life, and that it is too late to fix any of it.  I put my life and needs and dreams in the Lord's hands and I know He will take care of me and open the way He wants me to go.

God's plans are never wrecked, though we may not take the right path, God always has a way of getting us back on the right path.  What a Great Blessing it is that God's plans remain true Always!  Thank you Father in Heaven for being with me and assuring me that all is okay!  You are truly the God of all comfort!
