    For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn't hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth....

    For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24 WEB'Oh I don't want to face tomorrow. I have a bad, bad, feeling about this.' On and on we go into a spiral of sel...

    Baby Jesus from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about “Who is Jesus?” I feel that we take it for granted that people actually know that much about Him. In the world we see Jesus as a baby in a manger, then crucified on a cross. The life of Jesus seems to span...

Song Birds

  • Aren't five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don't be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6 WEB

    We live in the South Carolina countryside and have a large oak tree in our yard, which is near our porch. We like to sit outside and read when the weather is nice and it is amazing to see how many different types of small birds come by when everything is quiet.

    Here, it is common to see blue jays, cardinals, doves, woodpeckers, wrens, mocking birds, finches, an occasional humming bird, and of course, the tiny sparrow. The air becomes filled with bird songs, and some of these little ones can sing so loudly. I often wonder how so much sound can come from such a tiny head.

    The birds are accompanied by squirrels running up and down the tree, occasionally stopping to look inquisitively at us. Last night, I watched a possum walking along one of the limbs. The oak tree is home to so many creatures and a thriving community is happening there, all without our help. God cares for all of nature. 'The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth' (Psalms 29:9).

    Jesus told us that not even a small sparrow is forgotten by God. While Luke writes that five sparrows were sold for two pennies (Luke 12:6), Matthew writes that two sparrows were sold for one penny (Matthew 10:29). So if you bought two pennies worth of sparrows, you got an additional one free. Not even that free sparrow is forgotten by God.

    Have you ever felt the Lord has forgotten you? I certainly have had times when I felt like that, but we are not to live by our feelings alone. The righteous will live by faith (Hebrews 10:38). Feelings change like the wind, while God's word stands forever. Even the hairs on your head are all numbered (Matthew 10:30).

    You may feel like the Lord does not care, but He wants you to know that He does care. You may feel that He doesn't know, but He wants you to know that He does know. You may feel that you have been forgotten, but He wants you to know that He will never forget His beautiful child.

    So often we get concerned about this or that, when actually Jesus is the real answer to it all. We seek the desires of our heart directly, but God told us 'Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart' (Psalm 37:4).

    The Lord knows exactly where you are today, you are not forgotten, His door is always open, and He wants you to trust Him. As you seek Him, your needs will be taken care of automatically (Luke 12:31). In God I trust.

    Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You so much for loving me. I am sorry for my lack of trust when things get difficult. Please strengthen me, speak to me in a way that I understand and help me build a deeper relationship with You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

    Note: Good morning! The highlighted group of the week is Keep It Simple Crafts: this group is about the joy of creating beautiful, yet simple, projects for your home, as gifts or just for fun! Crafts that can be created with little-to-no skill are encouraged here. ALSO, the Creation Photographers theme of the week is "Days Gone By" or "Memory Makers" based on Esther 9:28, Psalm 25:7, and in memory of those brave souls who died protecting the freedom of others. As always, you are free to post anything else that inspires you, too!

On Staurday evening I had a dream. In this dream it seemed everywher I looked, there was written down Phl 1:6. I did something I rarely do, I woke up, turned turned the light on and read Phl1:6 which said;

Phl 1:6

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

I am so sure that this is speaking of my life and how Jesus started this work in me, and He will not fail to finish it. God is not slack!

Thank you. Your sermons arrive in such a timely manner.  When I feel down or lost or forgotten....you always seem to know...or should I say...God knows and points you in the direction of need.  Thank you.  So uplifting.  This sermond is a keeper.  It is one I need to turn to and read again and again.
