  • For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11 WEB

I used to work with my Dad building custom homes. He was a lifelong carpenter. When he agreed to build a house, the first step was the plans. How big will it be? How many floors? Where will the stairs go? How many windows will it have? All these details needed to be known ahead of time and planned out to help prevent things like the stove being installed in an upstairs closet.

It started out as a stack of lumber, then the house was built a piece at a time, and everything in a certain order. The roof could not come before the foundation, nor the wiring before a wall. The foundation was laid, then the floor, the walls, and the roof. As all the pieces came together, it took shape, and at some point, it began to look like a house.

As a young helper who knew nothing, I would have gladly hung the kitchen cabinets and given them something beautiful to look at, but there were weeks of work to do behind the scenes before that step could be done. Dad knew that, but I didn't. Also, not everyone liked the same colors that I did. We built some houses that were yellow, while others were gray. In time, all the pieces came together and formed a beautiful home, custom built for the owners, and they loved it.

God has laid out plans for our lives, and they are amazing. Plans to prosper us, to give us hope and a future, a good ending. No two of us are alike, so God takes each of us down our own path and at our own pace. As we walk with Him daily and follow the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit, our lives will come together into something that will be beautiful to us.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people love attending events and parties, but if you call and cancel your dinner plans with us, we will silently thank God for it. Some people love to work all day in a flower garden, but not me. I love technology and gadgets. It is part of my gift set and God built me like this for a purpose. For you to be happy, it is very important to be yourself like God intended. Your heaven may be my hell. God knows this and builds each of our lives to fit our personality. We can still both love God, and just agree to disagree about our favorite color.

The enemy also has plans for us, which are pretty much the opposite: to steal, to kill, and destroy your life and that of your families. To divide and conquer. We all have to choose between the good and the bad, just like Adam and Eve. No one is exempt. Sure there is forgiveness, but you are always given a chance to not sin in the first place.

'No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it' (1 Corinthians 10:13).

If you choose Jesus, and follow Him wholeheartedly, you will be happy with your life in the end. You may or may not die rich and famous, but your life will be full and you will be happy with the way that your life turned out. It will fit you, because God does have plans for you. If you just work with Him a little each day to keep your life on course and allow Him to correct you, then everything is going to be alright. Good things often take time, but rest assured that everything is right on schedule.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for all that You are doing in my life. Build me up Lord and craft me into the best version of myself. Share Your wisdom with me and help me to see the big picture. I choose You today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Thank you for today's message. One of my favorite verses. God is opening so many doors for me lately. Words cannot express all He continues to do for me. Amen

I love your message and do believe and want to believe more, but when I think of my Mom suffering from Alzheimer's it breaks my heart. How do you take a message like today and firmly believe while watching the end of her life stabatigued?  Maybe it's because we only see one side of it. Maybe because of this the truth of our family is being seen. I do not know. I claim truth, faith, love, and forgiveness for this day. I do believe in you Jesus please help my lack of faith. I claim an openness to your will, your blessings and joy!!

Michelle, my mom has Alzheimer" also, I also know that God can heal her at the snap of His finger. He has not chosen to do this for what ever reason and I just have to be OK with that. It is very hard but If I am going to trust Him, I must trust Him in all things!

Hi Michelle,. Thins as you describe are same for me when I look on someone's suffering.  My Mom didn't have that but her death was a strange one.  Still think on the mystery of it.  Yet she was saved so the day before she died her eyes got clear to sit up in hospital bed & pull the tubes from her body and say to three of my family...how are you? (I got pretty sick and wasn't present..those present told this). They seeing this said well let's go for coffee break and were to come back. As they were leaving my Mom said..the lights...the lights. One said this light and turned to day this light etc...No she kept saying the light the light.  When they returned she was gone.  The lights were Jesus coming to get her to take her!  One morning after this I came into awful wave of grief.  Crying much.  We as a family were getting ready for church.  In the midst of this grief a vision appeared saying... she's with me... she's alright..then saw my Mom next to Jesus or angel not sure.  A huge smile I was caught up into that told hold of my grief and gave it a bottom to it.  Like I felt my grief level got filled up and I was able to become settled.  Reminded that we don't live in a perfect world yet.  But it is coming!  So sin, sickness, diseases, and death remain.  He promised we will be with Him in a new world and new house.  Blessings to you!

Just be yourself..stuck out...as Jesus wants us to enjoy what He has given..... Sometimes I get uncomfortable with me.  Wondering if He is pleased with me.ñ. Or distractions that want to keep me from spending good time alone with God.  I get back in devotion time & at the end I had experienced God very present. WEB is which Bible?  I read the scripture and noticed phrasing difference and it was nice.  Blessings!
