Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Luke 18:15 ESV
At church one night, a visiting speaker called my six-year-old son up front and told him that the Lord had heard his prayer about the dog, and that he would receive it. I thought for sure the lady had missed it because he had never mentioned that he wanted a dog. After talking with him, we learned that he had been watching 'Smokey and the Bandit' and wanted a basset hound like Jerry Reed's dog, 'Fred'.
His mom said we would look and I interrupted and said, 'Oh no, we are not helping God out. We already have a dog and are not looking for another one. If someone gives you a full-blooded male basset hound, we will know that it is God.' A couple of weeks later, I came home from seminary and heard a strange dog barking. To my surprise, out walked a full blooded male basset hound puppy about nine weeks old, along with papers showing that he was AKC registered.
My son's mom explained that they were at the grocery story and while standing in line, they began talking with a woman, and she mentioned she had a puppy for sale. She had just purchased an AKC registered basset hound puppy for $600, but got it home and changed her mind. She wanted to sell him, but suddenly decided to give him to my son. She wrote 'God bless you' on the papers and signed him over.
What could I say? I had spoken the requirements, and God surpassed it. My son had heard the word of God in church, he believed it, he prayed and God answered. A complete stranger gave him a full-blooded, AKC registered, male basset hound puppy. He named him 'Buford'. All we need is simple faith of a child, and believe that God will do what He said.
Prayer: Father, please strengthen my faith and give me opportunities to exercise it today. Help me learn to trust You, in the name of Jesus.
Now that is who God really is! Amen! If God truly said it, it will happen!

Tears, of Recognition! Many times when God answers humble prayers like those of children He goes beyond what we in our limited perceptions expect. Thank you Dear God for answering.
Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of God.
Amen!
Good Morning,
I love seeing the faith of a child. Be blessed church!
I love it!! God just keeps doing His thing in His timing.
I love the story! And I trust in the Lord, but it is the waiting part that is a bummer. I stopped praying for patience and trying to help God out; I have even spoken the requirements and still continue to wait. Faith is not the issue, it is waiting for direction in the wilderness that makes it seem hopeless. If anyone reading this feel so inclined - pray that we find a much better place to move to . . .
Praying with you, Victor, for that perfect place God has planned!
Prayers sent. Though our LORD GOD is quite, HE hears you and will give you the best place to move. Wait patiently for your prayers will be ansewered. GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH
Thank You, Pastor Dion!
