The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things. Just Let Me Love You

  • He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love. By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:8 WEB

Each time that I stumble in my Christian walk, the thought comes to me to turn back. I begin to feel things like: 'Why bother, you will never make it, it is too difficult, look at what you have done, you should be ashamed, you can't serve God until you fix it, you are not good enough, God is mad at you.'

All of these are black lies from the enemy, for once you invite Jesus into your life, there is no more 'sin problem' separating us from God. Jesus has already paid for every sin that you will ever commit, in advance. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have no sin, then we are a liar (1 John 1:8). We all do.

In the beginning Adam and Eve listened to the lies of the devil and sided with him, disobeying God. Then they felt that they needed to hide. Because of His love for us, God made a way to redeem us and gave His only Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sin. When you accept Jesus, He pays for your mistakes in God's eyes, with His own blood. To think that you can make it right yourself is a mistake. You are siding with the enemy and working against God. We don't have to hide anymore.

Charles Spurgeon said: 'The person who does not serve God where they are, would not serve God anywhere else.' Be sure to serve God right now where you are and doing exactly what you are doing. If there is something in your life that needs to be fixed, rest assured that He will give you the grace to deal with it at the proper time. Don't fall for the lie that you need to get your life together before committing to Him. Just surrender your life to Him and He will then help you get it together. When you put Him first, the other things will begin to fall into place naturally.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please help me to see Your truth and make it real to me. Protect me from deception and lead me into all that You have for me here. I want more of You in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

 Dear Pastor Todd,

This writing really spoke spoke to me today  I don't know why we seem to forget this truth and need to hear it over and over and over again before it sinks into our soul. Why is it so hard to believe that we are forgiven that we are loved?

I am a good Christian marriage counselor. However I have also been divorced twice. I still believe in marriage and I work to help couples work out their differences. I pray with them and help them to communicate better. However this was something I wasn't able to do in my own marriage.

There are people out there that say that I shouldn't be a marriage counselor since I've been divorced twice. I personally believe that these experiences have made me wiser,  stronger and better able to help couples navigate marriage and divorce. And yet there's that little nagging voice that tells me you shouldn't be doing this, you're not good enough.  You failed your marriage twice, what do you think you are doing, trying to help other people?  Stop trying.    These are the type of lies and attacks that I receive and when I read a message like yours I'm renewed in hope again

"Just surrender your life to Him and He will help you get it together"

Amen pastor Todd  Amen.

Thank you Pastor Todd have a great and blessed day

Dear Michelle, I can only speak for myself, I seem to only learn from my mistakes. Thank God for His Son Jesus and His forgiveness. If you truly understand why you have divorced two times, I am very sure thath you are quite capeable of helping others not make the mistakes you have made! Forgiveness is the KEY!

I would much rather have counsel from someone who has been in the trenches and on both sides of the fence, than one who got lucky and married a terrific spouse to begin with, and never had a single problem. We had a marriage seminar at church once and one of the speakers told us that when his wife went to visit her mom, that she would turn down his bed, put a mint on his pillow, a book on the nightstand. and dinner in the fridge before she left. But she was like that from the moment he married her. They had hardly ever had a raised voice. He is a great guy, with a great wife, but he had nothing to tell us about making a bad marriage work. One thing about a marriage is that it requires both parties to participate, and too often it is just one. When they finally have had all they can take, it usually ends unless there is a change of heart in the other, and sometimes that comes too late. Don't let them discourage you Michelle. You have been on both sides of the fence now.

Thank you Pastor Todd.  Yesterday I had a woman whose ex husband admitted to wanting transsexual experiences.  I shared my ex husband too was having affairs with men.  It was an opportunity to use my suffering for her good.  Praise the Lord!!

Thank you you for your kind words!!

Thank you Michelle for sharing your thoughts. I am divorced and had my ex husband wanted counseling I would have prefered a counselor like you who had the same experience.  We learn from our mistakes. They are our greatest teachers. Perhaps the Lord used your experiences to equip you for your calling. Keep helping others with your wisdom and knowledge.

When we choose not to lean on our own understanding, we trade our pitifully small perspective for God’s unlimited wisdom and love. Thank you, Pastor Todd, for your daily Rhema Word, as you continue to edify the Body of Christ.

Amen. He refines and shapes us, little by little everyday. We will remain a sinner until He calls us home, but He is faithful to forgive our stumbling and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I do believe this! It is Gods work in us which He planed ahead for us to do. I thank God for forgiving all of my sin's, and I do want to believe that Gods work through me, right now, today is His special plane for me. Before I was born He had a purpose and a plan for my life!

Thank you Pastor Dion this really spoke to me...I liked the Charles Spurgeon quote."Surrender your life to Him and He will help you get it togther. When you put Him first, the other things will begin to fall into place naturally." Sometimes we think we need to get our act together first before we committ to Him. But it is the other way around.. Thank you. Amen...
