Good Neighbors from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the importance of being a good neighbor. Ever since Adam and Eve had kids and one killed the other, it has been an ongoing thing, learning to live with one another. Most of the ten commandments are about how we tr...

When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn't hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave t...

The man said, 'They have left here, for I heard them say, 'Let's go to Dothan.' ' Joseph went after his brothers, and found them in Dothan. They saw him afar off, and before he came near to them, they conspired against him to kill him. They said to one another, 'Behold, this dreamer comes. Come now ...

The One Eighty Degree Turn

  • Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized. He took food and was strengthened. Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus. Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God. Acts 9:18 WEB

Saul was a hardcore Christian hunter. He had been there when Stephen was stoned to death (Acts 7:58). He harassed, persecuted, and pursued Christians. Whenever he found them, he put them in prison (Acts 26:11). He thought this was his calling, and he was completely dedicated to eliminating 'The Way' from the face of the earth. Mere words would have never made him think otherwise.

While traveling on the road to Damascus, with plans to arrest the Christians there, Jesus appeared to him. In a flash, it completely changed the course of his life (Acts 9:1). He gave the rest of his life to Jesus and miracles followed him. Saul was now known as Paul: a hardcore Christian. He had made a one-hundred-eighty degree turn and was now going in the other direction. He now preached the gospel, instead of persecuting it.

Anything is possible with God. Some of the most dedicated opposers of Jesus can become His most dedicated representatives, even risking their lives for Him. When people tell me they do not believe in God, it only tells me that they have not met Him yet.

If you have gotten involved in things way over your head and you think that it is now too late, you are wrong. God will redeem your life and buy you back from the enemy. If you are praying for someone who is lost, don't stop. When God changes your heart, nothing else matters.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please draw us to You, break us out of the normal, turn us around. Let us be a generation that seeks Your face out of love. Thank you so much for bringing me this far, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

This kind of one eighty degree turn is still happening today. As you study about the Apostle Paul, not many people who knew him as Saul, really recieved his change of heart. Do not be suprised if some people do not believe you, but the Bible says that God looks at the heart of a man. He KNOWS!

Amen. We must pray without ceasing for our prodigals and lost loved ones. Only Abba Father can draw them to Jesus.

I thank you and appreciate this devotional because I have five children , and they were all raised going to church from birth, I have been in the ministry for over thirty five years, and have raised them under the fear of God, but now they have all gone astray except one. I have one who has turned her back totally on God and believing in some kind of religion dealing with ancestors. She has made it known that she no longer believe in Jesus. I am praying for God to turn her mind back to believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

My others believe in God they have not committed their life to Christ yet. So this devotional encouraged my heart to keep praying.

thank you!
