His brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, and they hated him, and couldn't speak peaceably to him. Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him all the more. Genesis 37:4 WEB
The Lord gave Joseph a dream when he was just a young boy and showed him that one day, he would be promoted above his brothers. He was so excited that he told them about it, but they became even more jealous than they were before. He was already the favorite son in the family, and now this. "Who does he think he is? He is our little brother."
Joseph traveled a hard road before that dream came to pass. He was sold into slavery, then falsely accused of attempted rape, then had to serve time in prison. Yet right when it was supposed to happen, the dream came to pass and his brothers were bowing down before him. The nay sayers could not stop his dream, only their own, and the actions they took to prevent him from being promoted, actually caused it.
Be careful sharing the things that God has told you with the wrong people. Don't cast your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6). Hang onto them, remember them, write them in a journal. There will always be those that want to keep you beneath them and when you start to rise up, they will try to bring you back down. Just like the real police, anything that you tell them can and will be used against you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please set a guard over my mouth and give me wisdom about what I share. Give me the grace to keep my mouth shut and smile when needed. Lead me into all that You have for me and make Your thoughts, my thoughts, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
A big Amen to that!
Amen Lord.
Such wise words of wisdom! God has a plan for all of us and not one person can thwart them! We must always stay focused on God's plan and let the rest take care of itself; it is easier said than done; however, with the Holy Spirit in place, and our focus on God, we will be okay! Amen!!
Amen
I love this prayer at the end. I will make a copy to read ever day. Thank you and yesterday my dreams. I give them to God every day. Thank you .
Dear Pastor,
Totally relate to this. I have a tendency to be naive and over share. It has hurt me. Thank you for sharing this wisdom. The scripture passage Matt 6:7 totally fits this sharing. Amen amen amen. Totally nailed it for me again.
Amen so true we must use descretion in our sharing with others.
So true God deals with each one of us, and I pray that I will hear His voice and let the Holy Spirit guide me.
Thanks Pastor Dodd for each day godly word you send us. Since I knew about your ministry and subscribe to your emails, it has been amazing how God has been using you in my life in terrible times I have been going trough, and also at this time with the wise short words with great insights that God is giving you to minister.
Today word is so true for everybody to grab, because when we tell to everybody about our drems, wishes, desires, or the treasures that we have, we can see the people faces but we can not see their hearts. I used to give too much information about myself in whatever topic could be sharing, but the results were not good for me. The Holy Spirit guided me to learn that He Is the friend whom to share everything without risk to be betray with opposition or bad wishes against.
Thanks for this opportunity to share my thoughts with you. Bless you and all RHM members.
Amen!!!
Amen!!! Keep my mouth shut! This goes for other things as well. I recall while reading this that I have shared things with those I thought were friends to find that they didn't rejoice with me. I see now it was jealousy that was shown. These I call frenemies.
God bless you!
Yes Lord help me to not cast my pearls before swine...Amen♡
Wow!!! Was this ever on time!!! Thank you!

Thank you Pastor Dion for another right on the mark devotional. I am trying to share more with people, but can see the down side to this, especially after reading todays devotional.
Recently a non Christian friend A. visited while I had another Christian friend B. at my house. Friend A. had been unwell for some time and had been trying lots of different healings but nothing seems to work. I asked her if she had considered prayer thinking my other friend B. and I could pray with her. Friend A. changed the subject very quickly and left soon after. She is still unwell and still searching for an answer. I pray for her anyway, BUT What would you do in this situation? Friend A. is phoning me often for advice...
Dear Lord give me the wisdom I need to know when to share and when to keep quiet.Lead me to all You have for me and make Your thoughts my thoughts In the name of Jesus Christ I pray Amen.
Thanks for the reminder--I had to learn this lesson the hard way--many times, too!

Amen!!! Thank you for this advice! We really do need to be careful who we share our dreams with!!! I told my supervisor how happy I was at my job, and shared my dream of wanting to buy a home, since I was financially stable for the first time in 5 years. She went to our boss and complained about me, and had me fired.
Amen! Pastors prayer, Heavenly Father, please set a guard over my mouth and give me wisdom about what I should share. Give me the grace to keep my mouth shut and smile when needed. Lead me into all that you have for me and make your thoughts, my thoughts, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray amen!!
Amen!! Thank you Pastor Dion for todays devotion. :-) This reminds me of my sister's and I was only doing the right thing. They wanted me to tell a few lies. I was not going for it. So I am the out cast but I was my mother and my father's favorite. They loved us all but I was different and I knew it I made them laugh all the time. I was always more open and would tell them everything. My sister's didn't care for me for a few reasons that is one. I would not even think if they did something I would think about it and tell mom or dad. I didn't know that they was really doing something that was not a good thing to do. I've dome things too and told on myself. I got grounded too and thought what I did was not that bad but now i'm older I see why it was not right. Oh well I guess I was one to always tell the truth and it got me in trouble many times. lol
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please set a guard over my mouth and give me wisdom about what I share. Give me the grace to keep my mouth shut and smile when needed. Lead me into all that You have for me and make Your thoughts, my thoughts, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen. <3
Amen! My father always said, "The least said is the easiest mended". He taught me well.

This is exactly the message I needed today! Thank you Pastor Dion, God speaks to us through you. God is good! Dear God please give me the wisdom to share the right words at the right time. Help me to focus on the work you want me to do as a special educator, and help me to remove my ego from the equation. Amen
