For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won't delay. Habakkuk 2:3 WEB.About thirty-five years ago, the Lord gave me a word that I would pioneer new things in ministry and fo...

The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchante...

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

Radically Saved

  • They said to you that 'In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.' These are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:18 WEB

As I sat down in the break room to have lunch and said a prayer over my food, a guy at the next table, who was becoming very annoyed with my faith, started to mock me. I smiled, ate my lunch and left. Like Elijah, I felt that I was the only person in this factory that had any reverence for God at all. I was passionately in love with Jesus at the time and pleasing Him was all that mattered to me. I had become radically saved.

I have seen it a lot in the workplace, especially in construction. They used to yell at me 'Pray for me, preacher, I am going to commit some adultery tonight' and everyone would laugh. I wasn't a preacher, I just went to church and said a blessing over my lunch, but that was enough for them.

After lunch, someone approached me in secret and explained that he was a Christian as well. He wanted me to know, but didn't want to tell anyone else because he would be mocked for his faith like me. I explained that I wasn't seeking to be mocked either, but that I would not be ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ. He warned us that if we did, that He would be ashamed of us: 'For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed' (Luke 9:26).

Being mocked is a small price to pay for a relationship. Would you deny knowing your spouse or mother because of what someone else thinks? If I have to choose between pleasing them or Jesus, they lose. If they fire me, there is another job waiting. If they knock me down, God can lift me up. If they beat me, God is able to heal me. If they kill me then it will only send me to heaven to be with Him. 'I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?' (Psalms 56:11).

Pray and build yourself up in the Holy Spirit daily. There will always be scoffers and you have nothing to be ashamed of. A light is meant to shine and not be hidden under a basket (Matthew 5:15). Hold your head up and act like you know Jesus on Monday as well as Sunday. It is fun to be radically saved.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me another day here. Help me shine Lord. Give me strength to become who You created me to be. Help me to stand strong for You in the face of adversity, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I had the same experience when I was a teenager, working in a factory.Sometimes it felt as if satan was my boss! Because I was so young, I took the mocking personally, but I sure wish I could meet some of my former co-workers today! Thanks for the message, Pastor Todd!
