Hezekiah prospered in all his works. However concerning the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart. 2 Chronicles 32:30 WEBWhile attending classes at a school, t...

Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, 'Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you, and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel. I have given you...

Fear Not from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about fear, and the importance of pressing on even though we are afraid. When God calls you to do something, often fear is the first guardian that will be sent to stop you from accomplishing it. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timo...

Backlash

  • The multitude rose up together against them, and the magistrates tore their clothes off of them, and commanded them to be beaten with rods. When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely, who, having received such a charge, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks. But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were loosened. Acts 16:22 WEB

A girl with a spirit of divination followed Paul and Silas around the city of Philippi for many days. She discerned that they were God's messengers, and she told the people about them, but her words came from an evil source. Paul became 'greatly annoyed' and commanded the evil spirit to leave her. It did, and that is when the fight started.

Paul and Silas were beaten by the mob, then they were dragged through the streets, had their clothes torn off, and then beaten some more with rods. After this they were thrown into a cold dark prison and their feet locked in stocks. They had confronted the kingdom of darkness and then faced a counterattack from the enemy, who worked through his people just as God works through His.

Paul and Silas were in a tight spot. If there was ever a reason to complain, they had one. They had done nothing wrong to begin with, but this is a spiritual war. Instead of complaining, they prayed and sang hymns to God and soon their captivity was changed. In fact, they led some of the people to the Lord and the magistrates then came and apologized to them. It was a victory. They faced adversity with the right attitude, they overcame, and they led people to Jesus.

When the going gets tough, it is easy to throw up your hands and say, "I have had enough! Why serve God any longer? It brings me nothing but more trouble.' Yet this is not a time for wandering away, it is a time of drawing closer. We are in a battle and God is our refuge in our time of trouble. We should pray more, not less. When the going gets tough, the tough start praying and singing to God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me Your truth and help me to see what You see. Help me find my place in the body and put me where I will make the most impact for You. Here I am Lord, use me. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

YES! THIS PRAYER! EVERYDAY!!!! AMEN AMEN AMEN!!! Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me Your truth and help me to see what You see. Help me find my place in the body and put me where I will make the most impact for You. Here I am Lord, use me. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen. Some days I get so busy.... I want always to have our Father first in my heart and yet I still let the choas of the day loose my focus for moments ... I get frustrated sometimes way too easily and lash out at people I love... Help me Father only show YOUR love to others and not my twisted perception of how it should be. Help my focus even through chaos and trial to be all eye's on you and the goodness you give to your children each and every day. Amen! Thank you Pastor :) Wonderful message today!! God bless

I heard a song at our church where the words in it had this..Chaos you have no place here.....two other were mentioned also.  I had granddaughters here & when they left I & the atmosphere in our home was a chaotic spirit over whelming.  I prayed those words over & over.  Peace.  My Grandgirls are from dysfunction growing up with other things mixed in.  My heart gets yet it is not the desired home atmosphere.  Choosing next time one girl visit over weekend & give special individual attention.  The father, my son, is not with them now nor before in a sane healthy way.  My husband took each of ours for B-fast etc.  They loved that. Also did over a time period a craft of bird houses that linked together making a pretty mobile.  So that will be incorporated with each also.  Some kids & adults get addicted to excitement.  That's a peace remover also.  I will send a picture of the bird house project.  May the Lord of peace bring His Spirit of peace to you and with His grace & mercy.  We need Jesus always..hot & moment.  If not His death would have met nothing.  Redemption is there for us all.  This is talking to me also.  You're so special.

Thank you for sharing this with me Cheryl! What a special thing to make a birdhouse mobile. It's sometimes those chaotic moments that we look back on later and miss...even when the behaviours need work, quality time like that is priceless!! God bless my friend

Amen when the trials come , when the spiritual warfare begins, when the illness strikes, when the bad news arrives, this is when I pray and praise. Fervent prayer and rejoicing praise bring me through the worst of days.

This devotional is a blessing. It helps me to remember a list of goals that I wrote several years ago and it took seven years for some of those goals to be achieved and Majority of the goals were achieved. I remember life was so hard years ago and I could not even afford a can Soda. I cried, prayed, and wrote letters to God. My sister told me to write a letter to God and I did. Over time my prayers were being answered slowly but surely. Like the devotional said I wanted to give up. But I prayed anyway. I published my book and eventually a source of income came through. More prayers were answered. Today I am grateful for many blessing that I have been given. I thank God for his love and understanding. Thank You

Great msg..lots of nuggets:). Discernment is mine learning in teaching I was in & see it operating.  Too see & take in the fact those whose father is the devil with discernment & naturally operating in gossiping/tatlletaling is a good discernment to watch for or better yet to discern.  Generally being near someone who pumps you for info on someone for gossip to use is clear for me.  Also watching my own tongue so not to pass info I might know. I pray to be a witness knowing I am not of this world just having two feet in it.

A constant desire is to pray that I too would pray & praise not get woeful.  To remember Paul & Silas choices & see such results.

To know where to be of use in the church has been unpredictable due to health issues that long ago put me on disability.  Unpredictable still is real.  I make appts & most I make yet I cancel when needed.  My counselor said in ref to stories I shared concerning prayer for neighbors that is great to here...so So I think it is here.  Our sermon at church explained it recently that a card, phone call, visit & such is where our witness of the Lord can be.  I pray, Lord, where are You working that I may be there to help.  Prayer & keeping my ears open that I not want to miss is my best conversation with Him.  I like radio off, TV,  & chaos of any sort to be gone so I don' miss His voice.
