Then Mordecai asked them to return this answer to Esther: "Don't think to yourself that you will escape in the king's house any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Who...

In the same hour, the fingers of a man's hand came out and wrote near the lamp stand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace. The king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king's face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and ...

One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying, "If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!" But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Don't you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this ma...

Bold as a lion

  • Psalm 11:1: In the Lord I take refuge. How then can you say to me: Flee like a bird to your mountain.

Proverbs 28:1: The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

Truly I tell you that all of us who take refuge in the Lord are secure in righteousness! When we are faced with so many distractions, fears, lies, and injustices we have no reason to flee or run. We can be bold in the knowledge that we are protected by the Lord. Why would you say, Flee like a bird to your mountain? We no longer need to feel like we have to run and hide away from confrontation, from negative reports, or from anything that looks bad in the world.  We have the truth of Jesus Christ on our side and in that, we have all we need to be bold and full of life.
Before I knew the Lord and was able to seek refuge in Him, I constantly ran away from negative situations. I had so much fear and anxiety about things that would never happen that I would be looking for a safe place to run to. The more that would happen, the smaller my world shrunk. I was forced by fear and running away from that fear, into only a few places like my office or my home. Nowhere else was safe for me.
When the Lord overcame my fear with His truth, my world opened. I was able to get on a plane and go anywhere I wanted. I realized that all things meant for my harm, the Lord was going to make in my favor. I realized that no weapon formed against me would ever prosper. I started to allow the truth and the promises of the word of God to permeate my being.
Soon, the chains fell off. I encourage you, brothers and sisters, to stand your ground. You are on firm footing in the Lord. We are not the ones who have to flee or move, it is the trespassing enemy who must flee. The righteous are as bold as a lion. We are the Kings and Queens in Christ Jesus and we no longer have to be pushed around by the lies and fears of the wicked.

Word of the day: Seek refuge in the Lord at all times and be bold as a lion. We never need to flee or back down when faced with adversity. We have the power and promises of God on our side. There is nothing more powerful than Him and His word.

Prayer of the day: Father God, we boldly come to Your throne of Grace. We ask for you to reveal Your love to us today and allow us to feel Your love in us. Even if we cannot feel Your love, we trust that You love us unconditionally. We thank You that we can come against the enemy with the knowledge of who we are in You. We ask for Your power to be revealed in the presence of our enemies today and every day. In Jesus' name. Amen.
